Mine would have to be Igby Goes Down(2002) Starring Kieran Culkin and Claire Danes.

I'm a pretty big fan of Igby Goes Down, myself. Also, Clerks, Pi, Happiness.

4. Indy

Indy is short for Independent. Such as Independent film, Independent music, Independent wrestling, ect. Indy is anything that's not "big" or main stream. Indy is usually the feeder system for these things, the next generation of film makers and actors are usually indy, as well as musicians and wrestlers.

IMDB defines independant rather leniantly according to it's Top 50 by Genre (Independant) .

Do you want to define it as just "self funded" or "self funded & low budget"?

Regardless, my favourate movie is a cheap indy: "Eraserhead".
 
yes, i too am confused by some of the choices (fitting into 'indy') and what exactly i would choose to fit into the box
 
what pops up in mind first, me thinks. Screw what ppl think an indy film should be. What do YOU think it is, and do u have any favorites that you would consider indy films at first glance.
