I love do the right thing, miller's crossing and bronx tale.

Other movies I'd add:

Withnail and I
Jesus' Son
SLC punk (it never got released in the UK)
Heavenly Creatures

Six String Samuri.
The Item.

Both very much worth checking out. The Item is like the prototype to all the Japanese-infused media we're getting. Especially if you liked Kill Bill.

Jesus' Son is a good one.
Lost and Delirous

For some reason my mind just blanked(to stoned).

Lost and Delirous

Got to see this movie the other day as it was played on TV in Australia (SBS - foreign channel).

Great movie, and not just because of the lesbian scenes.

I found it kind of strange that the protagonist raised an injured raptor and released it, which is exactly the same thing this actress' character did in The Next Karate Kid.

Maybe she has been typecast as a bird helper :)

*Edit* - Shit, it's a completely different actress. Oops...

Bad Boy Bubby.
Cube
Billy the Kid (the one about the goat, not the cowboy)
Bad Taste
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead

I'll post more when I can think of them...

the ones that immediately come to mind for me are mostly foreign films - it's so sad that people ignore amazing films just because they're subtitled.

some of my favourites (not just foreign ones) that would be mostly unseen:
contempt
dreams
dead ringers
irma vep
mixed nuts

GOD! Everyone needs to go out and rent Ordinary People if you haven't seen it. I'm hoping that this is (typically) a more mature readership you'll would have done so already.

Word on a bunch of the movies already mentioned... including Guess Who's Coming To Dinner and Kramer Versus Kramer.

Another I just thought of is 12 Angry Men. Most people over 30 have seen this but it seems with my peers noone has. grrr... I'm so sick of my generation thinking that if it isn't in color it isn't worth seeing.

A couple others:
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
Chinatown
Once Upon a Time in America
Mr. Smith Goes To Washington
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Dead Man <- that's for you skywise ;)
Harvey

Even though I'm young and fit into that generation-generalization which I speak of I was lucky enough to have a dad that exposed these classics to me. You all with kids better do the same :X :)

Dead man... thats with Johhny Depp right??
If it's the one im thinking of then it rocks!!

^^^ indeed it is. beautiful black and white film. same director as coffee and cigarettes and down by law, too :)

Beatiful movie, kind of reminds me of all girls Dead Poets Society, but better. I really like Piper Perabo's character, and her courage to stand up for the things she believes in, and makes no apologies about it. The hot young lesbian sex scences surtainly don't hurt it either.

Didnt mean to high-jack the thread, but I don't think there is a topic on this movie. Off to use the search engine.
