I voted for Goodfellas (slightly over Taxi Driver) but I missed seeing (on the list):
Bringing Out The Dead
Kundun
Raging Bull
Mean Streets

haha. yeah, Raging Bull definitely needs to be added. It didn't affect my vote though, I picked Taxi Driver.

And allthough I dont think it is even in the running for "best Scorsesese film" i feel the need to say that Kundun is really great even if its not typical of his style.

I voted age of innocence, because i fuckin loved that movie
AND it showed another side of Scorcese that is rarely shown unlike his mafioso/gangster movie side. After that i absolutely adore pretty much all of his movies.....if i were to rank my top three would be:
1. Casino
2. Goodfellas
3. Taxi Driver

i voted for taxi driver, although i really prefer the last waltz.

(don't forget he directed the video for michael jackson's bad)

and his best role as an actor is as van gogh in kurosawa's dreams.

All the above films are brilliant. One of my favourite directors. A vote for Taxi-Diver. One of the best of all time. Why no 'Mean streets' in the poll?

scorsese has 40 or so films/other productions in the last 35 years with more up coming, a poll only has so much room.
i choose the big ones and most well known to not just film buffs but that a casual movie go-er/on tv movie watcher would recgonize. it isnt supposed to be a comprehensive list, just a pick from the following type of thing.

Goodfellas . . . best mob movie ever, even better than both Godfathers (the third Godfather being a discrace to the name) IMH,HO. :)

i picked taxi driver, just because it's one of my favourite movies of all time. goodfellas is a close second, but there's just something about crawling the streets of new york with de niro in td that can't be topped :)

one of the greatest contemporary directors.

Goodfellas all the way. Not only is it just a great story, it's brilliantly cast and scripted. The wardrobe is fantastic, as is the soundtrack. Ans that's before even looking at the technical wizardry. The changes in colour saturation and film texture as the decades pass is subtle genius at its best. It's also got the first use of the steadicam in a movie if I remember right.
Probably my fave movie of all time.

"Now go home and get your fucking shinebox!!"

I went for Goodfellas, but if I could've voted for any Scorsese film, I'd have gone for New York, New York - his forgotten masterpiece.

out of the selection provided i chose taxi driver, despite the post massacre ending.

I have to give the Last Waltz two thumbs up ! sorry it was not on your list.8)

i had to resist the urge to do the "style pick" thing by choosing taxi driver or last temptation of christ.

i seem to be in agreement w/ the majority here in choosing goodfellas as my favorite. what a flat out entertaining film. outstanding acting all around. some pretty sharp looking scenes. and joe pesci *sp* at his all time best (imo) what more do you need?

*gets his shine box*
