Where do people go?

I dunno if this has been done before, but it's been on my mind..
Where does you average, and not-so-average Bluelighter hang out on weekends? Or does he/she only appear for the big parties?
I know i haven't met all that many of you, but i'm almost certain i've seen you all at one place or another (Another good point for having a BL badge/shirt).
I know me and my buddies used to go Plastic, till the skanks overran the place.. we're now looking for a new home.

Im the type to simply wait for a big name to hit Melbs and hit a big rave somewhere, as for w/ends...i tend to avoid Bass Station and Hard-Kandy. Don't enjoy it as much as the big parties

But I still cant help going out on the weekends. As friday hits I just need to get out and get funky.
I try not to take chems when I am just clubbing though cause I dont wanna fry my brain.

Cool question.
I always tell myself I'll only go out on big night's, then when the weekend comes along I'll end up either.
1: Going clubbing on a "normal" night.
2: Going into city (possibly rolling) but go to a quiet pub and just dribble shit all night.
3: Go down the local (Northern Beaches area)
4: Get out of Sydney and go camping for the weekend to relax and chill out.
I think i'm just an inconsistant mess

I live with my girlfriend in North Ryde. During the week I come over to my parents house (Davidson near Frenchs Forest) to
1. Look for a job
2. Go for a surf - anywhere between DY & Av
3. Practice mixing
4. Record mixes / Burn CD's
5. Surf the net - lookup Bluelight etc
Don't go out at all during the week except to choof, on weekends spend time with the woman (gotta love her!) and maybe go out clubbing or to private parties or to friends places. I don't really go to raves anymore - can't handle seeing 12yr olds tripping off their nut! But go to places like Sublime R.I.P.

If you're in Melbourne, there's just too much good stuff on to stay at home. Thursday nights is great at Seven (late). Fridays is the choice between Bass Station, HK, or Viper Room (even upstairs at G-spot with Luke Bowditch and Dr Karl is great). Saturdays is the choice between Club V at Viper, or Ultrasound at Salt (where Hybrid and Anthony Pappa are playing soon! Woo Hoo!). Sundays are for recoveries followed by Monkey at the Palace (without a doubt THE Sunday night place to be!). Then a whole week of feeling like an etard! Ergh!
Plus I missed out about a thousand places that are heaps fun as well. BL's in Melbourne have got it good!

Well, I've been partying there a bit too on the odd occasion. Luke Bowditch plays some good techno earlier on in the night upstairs, and Docta Karl plays later. It's a cool laid-back night if you like to groove to a mix of techno, tek-house and some trance and hard house. Enough banging tunes to get you sweaty for hours on end I've been happy to hear tunes such as Confusion, Be Liquid, Accelerator, Iguana and some old faves like Lost in Love and Let Me Show You mixed in for fun.
Downstairs Piero plays all kinds of slower commercial and R&B classics with 90s, 80s etc., in there. Especially enjoyable night if you like to socialise and meet people as well as dance for a few hours. There's a bit of a 'members/guests' area closed off upstairs too, where somtimes guest DJs play.
Don't expect to be overwhelmed by the crowd before about 1-2am though.

Sorry folks.. shoulda said where i was from.. I'm in Sydney..
As for this weekend Faust, think it's Beatfix for the finale at sublime and Tweekin on Friday. voodoo would be good, but also packed tighter than a new pair of undies..

personally i stay away from all that loud repetitive music you kids all seem to like...

Well I must be getting old because I really like the smaller regular events; bass station and the clubs.
But my favourite roll times are with close friends on a mission. The drives into nowhere to jump out whenever takes our fancy, the in depth discussions undeneath big trees or on the beach... that kind of thing.
Has anyone ever been to Me. MAsedon to that hill that when you sit in your car in neutral you actually roll backwards UP the hill? It's fucking insane!

nah, Anjele is for real - i just did it last weekend, you go backwards up the hill in neutral - some mighty strange phenomena,that...otherwise, not a whole lot to do in mt macedon...

Anjele - I'm with you. Small nights, cozy crowd, comfy old DJ. Easy outside access so you can go and sit under the stars and have a babble when the noise and heat and crowds get too much. We ARE getting old, definitely! I just can't cope with all the commotion at big events (god I sound decades older than my 21 years). My perfect weekend is a big thumper on the chems at my local - 77, Subbers or the Underground (RIP), and then off to bed at a reasonable hour with a bunch of mates, the Sunday papers and a tall glass of GHB. Hmm, there is a Q-bar in Melbourne? One of my fave nights (in Sydney) used to be start out in the Underground (*mourn*) then at about 4 or 5 walk up to the Q-Bar - a nice contrast!

Just wanted to ad to my post that rolling backwards up that hill in Mt. Masedon is not something that can be mistaken for too many drugs!
You actually roll backwards at quite a speed, we got to over 30kms... and then you gradually slow down until you stop.
You have to run to keep up with the car if you're outside it, put it that way!
To prove his point, our driver got out of the car completely, to show that it was not him that was fucking with us!
It's kind of hard to find, but I recommend it. It's such a spin out.
And anyone out there who knows the reason why it happens (as do I) should NOT speak out about it on this board! It ruins the magic.
