Pulp Fiction and Resevoir dogs are among the only ones I truly like.
Generally speaking I don't like gangster movies, especially not ones set in Chicago during the prohibition or some horribly overdone scenario like that.
I guess Scarface was OK, but it sort of underlines the main problem I have with all gangster movies: it's basically a bunch of rich idiots with guns and you're counting down untill they all die or get put away.
good call on once upon a time.... the reason i love this movie is that it doesnt show gangsters in a glamourous light, leone didnt hold back, he showed them as a bunch of mysoginistic thugs and rapists.
so many older good gangster movies like orginal untouchables - this is my moms favorite movie subject/genre so i have been 'subjected' to many movie nights of this
mmmmm i'm just gonna pick 1.. KING OF NEW YORK (1990)........Christopher Walken plays a drug lord named Frank White who just got outta prison and has to take back control in NYC, acting along with Lawrence Fishburne, Wesley Snipes, David Caruso, and movie directed by Abel Ferrara.. i think this movie is really underrated
