Well, the event has been on for about 7 hours, please post reviews etc in here now :)

Hope you guys have a good time

Good fun! Vitalic, green velvet, BT, mauro picotto.. top work guys

Pity the GK arena was so packed i left after an hour and a half of picottos set... wish i could have stayed for the whole thing. Way too hot and cramped.

The lasers were nice:)

Hardware room by far the best room... and least packed!!
:)

MMM where do I start? ......... well, I got there around 10pm with my buddy for the night, we checked out the Hardware room first & saw about 40 mins of Simon Digby & Simon Coyle which was pumping along quite nicely, although not as many people in there as I would have expected.

Went to the meetup for 11pm, caught up with those who bothered to attend, thanks to everyone who was there!

By 11:30 we attended the DEBACLE that was VODAFONE Arena / GODSKITCHEN. WAAAAY too many people were allowed in there, it was so packed we couldn't really get past the top of the stairs, pushed our way inside after about 10 mins, saw how many people there were and realised we had no hope of getting on the floor and prompty left. It was an absolute disgrace.

Then headed over to Rod Laver / Future where we got straight down onto the floor without a hassle and caught most of Hybrid. I thought they played some really nice tunes, but I was in a fussy / hard to please mood so I couldn't really get into it fully, even though I did enjoy it (if that makes sense?). I found it a little slow / not pumping enough, but finishing their set with Blue Monday was a lovely touch.

Next up was BT, he was also a little slow to begin with, but again great tunes. Again I found it a little hard to get into to begin with, but BT being the great performer he is slowly wound it up with a remix of Lenny Kravitz - Are you Gonna Go My Way, which was extremely well received by the crowd! Left BT about 20-25 mins b4 he finished, he stopped dead at this point and started another slow track so he could wind up for a big finale, but unfortunately he lost us at that point so we left.

Around 4-ish (anyone correct me if I'm wrong on that guess) we saw 2 fire twirlers (same ones from EC) outside Hardware who absolutely blew me away beyond belief with their abilities, poise and grace. A couple minor mistakes on 2 impossible manouvres were totally forgiven!

Walked into Hardware to Green Velvet with La La Land - what an intro! loved every minute of the rest of their performance, along with every minute of Vitalic after that. Also caught most of Renato Cohen who had some great track selection, nice, smooth & flawless mixing before heading outside for a break.

Finished up catching my buddies PDT vs Robert Anthony upstairs in The Riot Room, who played some dirty, raw Tek until close.

VODAFONE was still a disgrace & totally packed even at this late stage, so glad we didn't bother going in there all night.

Some better crowd controlling in VODAFONE would have helped greatly, I'm sure more people will post details about this, as I only ventured there twice, I was totally disgusted both times.

2 more simple things that could have made our partying experience much more pleasurable...... CLEAN THE FUCKING TOILETS YOU CHEAP BASTARDS it doesn't require that much effort! Having said that, there was soap in each toilet I visited during the night. 2) less important, a few rubbish collectors to clear some cups/cans from the dancefloors wouldn't have gone astray.

I know I said this last year, but I doubt I will go to 2T 2005 unless there is a killer act/DJ that I am dying to see. The amount of people (and ratio of dickheads) was just too much. Staying in Rod Laver & Hardware seemed to be the wisest choice. I did have a great time, even though I was in a fussy mood, and was easily annoyed by dickheads. A couple random PLUR'ers were nicely received though, as they weren't too annoying!

might post more later if it comes to mind.........

I forgot to mention that I did see a larger proportion of people wiggin out / ralphing during the night (even someone from the ferris wheel), it could be heard & smelled quite frequently:(

fuck me i'm sore!

well, wot a nite..

firstly, i must congratulate the person who left the gate open on the cute chick farm...... damn there were some beauties there last nite...
muzby gives a great big round of applause to most of the girls there last nite

secondly, can anyone tell me the song that was played as the encore track in the vodafone arena? that song rocked, and i had the tune in my head until i saw a scattered raver walk through an open carpark, and then smack himself headfirst into a lightpost...

being my first two tribes in melbourne i went in with an open mind, and was completely blown away by the production put on.. i know people always bitch about the production/features etc, but from an outsiders point of view, i found this party to be one of the biggest and best i have ever attended...

being a little "lost" i cant really comment on the different music arenas... all i do know is that every room i went into, the music was great, and would let me dance my little ass off..... well, everywhere except for vodaphone arena..... fuck me that was packed.....

nu-breed were great, vitalic gave me some hope that not all techno/electric is just loud shit pumped out of speakers ;)

i was a bit worried about all the people passing out...... even worse to see so many ambulances...... guys please remember to play safe!!!! drugs are illegal because they can cause a lot of harm and even kill us!! going hard isn't always something to be proud of!

meetup was good... glad to meet a number of new faces, met lots of great people who i hope to catch up with again soon... (i'm not gonna go listing names, cause i was a little "trashed" at the meetup and will forget people for sure!!!!

anyone with information as to how i got a big fuck-off bruise on my thigh would be greatly appreciated... :(

four tribes verdict
wot a trip.. started out in sydney to a drizzled party that cleared come morning, finished in melbourne on a nice evening, which turned into a drizzled morning....

venue: award goes to melbourne. sorry sydney, but considering melbourne had a venue with 2 superdome sized areas, plus 4 other areas and RIDES, there is a lot to be learned from here...

people: have to give this to sydney... purely biased here as it was great to catch up with old friends...

vibe: melbourne. happy vibe, most people smiling (except for those unconcious in the back of ambulances)

music: melbourne. such a better aray of music.

but yeah, thanks to everyone i met over the two nites, was great to catch up with old friends and make some new ones.... jenny craig, eat your heart out... i'm now 5kg lighter... 8o

i'm gonna go now... my head hurts....:\

Daimo - BT finished with Dreaming, followed by Godspeed, and then a mix of Flaming Dune and Run DMC's "It's Tricky' (oh and all three were mega extended versions ;))

=D

Oh and Vitalic was 10 times better than i imagined! OMG! :D

Vitalic didn't play for anywhere near long enough :(

And re: meetup. talk about segregation of people. All the jaded 'old-skoolers' were parked on the opposite side of the ferris wheel to the 'newer-skoolers'. Not that either lot would have wanted to interact anyway :p

big thumbs up to all involved who made my night one worth trying to remember

two tribes this year was great! Way more people than last year, Gods Kitchen was totally full!

It was weird tho, for some reason didnt feel right compared to last year? I just thought the crowed this year was weird? Viewing from the side chairs in gods kitchen, too many tops off, looked like everyone was in some dancing cult, just weird.

Had a good time tho, but going with three blondes keeps you on ya toes as they were harrassed this year a lot, while last year nothing.

What happened to the Mauro Picotto set? I thought I saw them rotating dj's? 8(

from what i could see is Pauro Picotto a semi bald westener? Yeah he was on for ages but also for other sets, i didnt really pay a lot of attention, but this bald guy was on for ages?

I really don't know what to say, something along the lines of too many people too commerecial walking back and forth in a crowd of sheep with nothing to do. Don't get me wrong some of the Dj's played fuckin awsome ie. vitallic, and this GHB shit which the news are calling GBH is fuckin redicoulous. I'll leave that for drug dicussion

well sum1 i know just called it qbh..... dam chinese wispers
all in all it was a great night i think... i have now been enlightend into the works of VITALIC.... and was surprised to hear lala land being sung live.. then picotto just rocked the house till the wee hours of the morning.....

oh and for those of you who didnt hear.. i took an LP record by mario piu and mauro picotto hoping to get it signed by them even tho ppl said i had no chance in hell.... well gues what... fergie and tomcraft signed it too... will post a pic laterers:p

did anyone see fergie on stage after his set heckling a very trashed tomcraft?? swinging the decks from side to side while he was trying to mix etc. then tapping the mic sorta in time with the music to confuse the fuck outta him.. and doing impromptu announcements to fire up the crowd (come on you bastards!!! make some fucking noise!!!).. and inviting punters onstage despite security's best efforts to stop them. all the while doing his best to get a grope up some girls skirt!! in one word... UNIT!!!

To be honest I must say it was an average night, not bad at all but not the type of atmosphere you would want for the artists that were there - this all comes down to the crowd being more commercialised I guess and this is just unavoidable.

Performances - Believe it or not I enjoyed Ben Cromack's set the most out of every set in the Hardware room, very big well done to him. Samuel L Sessions kept the pace going with some nice tribal tech beats. Green Velvet's presence is enough to get the crowd going let alone his style, he did very well though I would prefer him playing live if I had to choose, good stuff. Vitalic surprisingly didnt disappoint as I thought his style would slow the night down but interestingly enough he didnt, he kept the vibe on a high. Renato Cohen's set was clean and very well structured, though I thought his track selection lacked vibe but still was good stuff.

Overall a not bad night, but atmosphere could of been better, anywayz by the looks of things next party looks to be Dave Clarke at POW so tek it up!

ALSO: So good to meet tnargus and electrobot, keep rocking guys and hopefully see uz around soon!

My first rave, what can I say?

Fuck!

The atmosphere, the people and the music - it was the closest thing to a perfect society.

I loved the way where you could talk to anyone, and everyone, almost as if you've known them all your life. Not to mention the music, and atmosphere, wow!

I'd love to add more, but I'm just so sad it's over :(

:( :( :( :( :(

EDIT: Somone also gave me a shot of their vicks inhaler. It was my first time trying it, and fuck, I loved it!

I will post one day soon...must get sleep now.....ow, my jaw, my teeth, my chewed toungue.....and "ow my freekin ears!"

=D

Hybrid - good
BT - excellent
Vitalic - excellent
Mauro Picotto - big meh!

The crowd was a little better than last year, but not much.

Gotta say after 7 months out of the rave / club scene it was good to be back for one big night. Although I dont think it was as good as two tribes in 2002... it just felt different for some reason.

I think the crowd was pretty good, didnt see any bad things (fights, anger etc) and everyone i met and spoke to was nice. Its also good to get a smile and thumbs up while on the dance floor, all good!

vodafone / godskitchen arean WHAT A JOKEEEEE OMG I went through there about 7 times and each time it took me about 10 to 15 mins to get through to the dance floor!!!! I had to jump seats which was a bit hard with blurry vision.

Overall a good event with great music, tho didnt have the same vibe as a few years ago.. maybe im just old :(

Sor

well i had a 'not too good/not too bad either' night. i spent most of my time in the hardware room, then drifting from one place to the other...
while some of the music was good, nothing really grabbed me! it wasn't that the music was bad, just nothing too exceptional.

i got there at around 9:30pm and spent alot of time wondering around. i never really felt settled and at 2 am i found myself still saying 'i feel like my night hasn't even started yet.' this was the main problem for me, because at 5am I realized I'd spent the whole time waiting for things to happen.
i was in a bit of an unsettling mind frame, and couldn't seem to get into anything like i usually would. but overall i did have an enjoyable night!

the crowd was ok but some people are just so caught up in themselves. i suppose at the bigger events you are just mainly hanging around your friends and stuff... but to me no-one seemed too friendly... then again i suppose no-one seemed too unfriendly either... argh.. can't think properly.

maybe my vision was totally fucked by i didn't even see ONE cokehead with out a shirt on!!! there were definately muzzas but they sort of toned it down.... in comparison to summerdayze (ARGHHHH!) for example.

as for the overdoses, i witnessed 4 (out of 10 i think?) of them and i was pretty freaked out by it all. definately added a disturbing vibe to my night. it is just so frustrating that people don't treat GHB seriously. some people don't seem to understand that you have to play by the rules- else it is a matter of life and death.

anyway... i'm rambling... damn it was hard to sleep last night. so now i'm sitting on the computer waiting for uni to start... woohoo!

hope everyone had a good night! thanks to my awesome friends and all the friendly people that made things fun! =D =D
