whats a good editing program for a pc/windows, no mac here... yet

windows movie maker is great for only making stuff to save to the web or to play only on media player, but I need something to burn vcd's that i can play on most dvd players.

sorry, you may move this thread if you like, I did a search here and didn't find anything.

Thanks for the links!!

oh hey, n/m about moving it, cuz that forum doesnt exist.

I dl'd the tryout version of after effects, and i'm completely lost, in that thread someone said that it does everything premier does and more, so i'm not sure if I should waste my 30 day trials of both yet.

I dl'd premier pro trial version and it works great, I've gotten my video finished and I would now like to burn it as a vcd, I can't find a way to do this, it says you can in the help index but doesn't say how and I've tried every possible thing.

Any ideas how to help me, right now I have an avi that is almost 5gig's, which is way to big to put on a cd-r obviously.
