Hi all,
Recently I went through a coerced abstention from my usual recreational drugs. But as the evening comes, I desire intoxication. What intoxicants can be had in this house of my delightful parents? Zolpidem! I now have been using zolpidem (10mgs) 2-3 times a week. This is the quantity my father takes occasionally for sleeping. Yet I stay up on it and it provides me a rather fun time. I am crucially aware that zolpidem dependance and withdrawal is just as horrible as benzodiazipine dependance and withdrawal. I will not at any point make this habit anything more than occasional. Mostly I'm just waiting for access to my old favorites to return.
But my questions is, how bad is taking 10mgs of zolpidem, sitting around for a couple hours, chilling, then going off to sleep? Am I endangering myself?
I hope this question has not been posted before. And I did "use the fucking search engine". Thank you all for your time!
I am currently entering the dissociative state that is rather intriguing. But if you all tell me this is awful and I will die of a seizure during withdrawal, I will gladly stop. Thank you again, and good night.

fixed.
And yes this question has been asked plenty of times.
Taking hypnotics and staying awake is not safe in the sense of what you get up to in this state.
Your conscious mind has no control and your subconcious takes control.
Therefore every idea you have in this state is a good idea, and by pursuing these ideas(eg. driving, taking more pills etc) you are putting yourself and others in danger.

It is definitely not a habit/recreation that you want to start.
Medically you will become tolerant very quickly and would need to take larger doses thus causing a snowball effect of the dangers mentioned above.

"I desire intoxication" - we all do. But with hypnotics the risk isn't worth the reward, I've been there - and am lucky to be here now.
Please don't go down that road.

Hope this helps.

Dont steal your dads medication as he obviously needs. Im sorry if im jping to conclusions but if youre going to take another family members meds ask first, ensuring you have your consent.

If youre caught without psrmission youre likely to lose trust and respect from them which may be hard to patch up.

Damn, you both are right. And I feel shitty the next day physically and mentally so its obviously a bad habit. I just can't take this full sobriety at the moment. Guess it would be better if I started smoking again instead if I have to do something. Alright, thanks for the input guys, I guess I knew these things, just needed to hear it from someone else. Of course my dad wouldn't want me taking his meds for fun, his Ambien is sort of for anyone to use if they needof course, that's why its kept in a central location. But using it recreationally is bad I guess. Wow I feel dumb for asking this now. Oh well. Won't do it again.

I feel lucky because I've been a flunitrazepam IV junkie in 98 and didn't gone in jail or injuried myself or other people under the effects of it, just have been robbed, felt on the floor many times and been saved when I felt in a river, lost all friends because of the zombiefication I was in, made stupid accidents with my car, people laughing of me..... should tell more ?

Talking to the psychiatrist who managed my benzo tapering, he admits that many people found themselves in jail without knowing what they have done before.
My experience of heavy ipnotic benzos user is : AVOID recreational use or troubles will come very soon ! If you want to do this, ask a friend to control your behaviour when under effects.

1 question, what's recreational in this substance ?? Didn't obtained nothing special with this benzo compared to flunitrazepam, lorazepam or triazolam...... maybe it's me....

Seconded on not stealing medication

Benzodiazepine nad Non-Benzodiazepine addiction alike creeps up and then takes hold fast
