They absolutely do, they're shorter acting than even the xanax though, works best for sleep, as intended really.

Thnx. I’m a Z drug guru with a weird sleep schedule. So my tolerance is high too. Took about 10 10mg last night in withdrawal. But ine irony I’d. I’m not an anxious guy I just need my rest. Just me and my 3 year old. Trying to navigate so this guy won’t make the mistakes mine made
Overall slept ok. I had some baggage hanging on me from running to hard. So thru the. I started with me airplane dose 10 10mg then they whore off at exact 4 hr mark. Then another 5 10mg. Probably overdid it. Woke up fine. No anxiety. Well how we day 2

Ambien will ultimately make your taper longer and harder as it essentially works the same as Xanax. You need to slowly taper your Xanax, or switch to a longer acting Benzo and taper that (Valium or clonazepam). You’ll need to avoid all another medications (like ambien) that work on the GABA a receptors. Good luck.
