I've looked everywhere, including other threads on these forums and I haven't been able to find anything conclusive. Approximately how long does it take to become physically dependent on Ambien? I hear the withdrawal symptoms are similar to those of Benzos and I've been taking them to conquer my insomnia due to an opiate-free sobriety.
It's been approximately one month since I've been taking them (nightly) and one 10mg pill does the trick. I took approximately 1mg of xanax daily for about 2 weeks prior to starting the ambien (to combat the opiate withdrawal symptoms) and I think I read that they effect the same receptors?
If my calculations are correct, I've been taking benzos/related z-drugs for about a month now. I wouldn't say I've been abusing them, just relying on them to get a decent nights sleep. Haven't touched xanax for about 2 weeks now, just 10mgs of ambien. Should I stop taking them now? Mind you that I can't get even 2 hours of sleep without them. I ended up taking one around 5am this morning when I woke up abruptly as I have been without the ambien.
Any personal experience would be greatly appreciated.
