I didnt want to derail the other thread too much so I'll post it here.

What are your physical genetic gifts? Got great arms? Thick wide back? What do you do with your weaknesses to compensate? Large waist so train shoulders and legs to overshadow it? Share your secrets so we can all grow: physically and intellectually.

As I shared in the other thread, I have a smaller bone structure and stature with very trainable shoulders and legs. Gives me a very nice tapered torso and makes my waist appear even smaller.

Broad back and shoulders. I was a competetive swimmer and I think constantly contracting those muscles over the years made me more efficient when I hit the gym. My chest and legs grow so slow - but my shoulders have that 3d boulder look. When I started doing Madcow 5x5 my back just absolutely exploded

I am pretty tall 6'3'' so I have a nice height gift. But muscle wise I am all back and legs. I have a nice wide shoulder set. As such I have to spend a fair amount of time training my arms, and chest. chest is really my weak point because Ii have to really work to get it to look proportionate. I have a real thick waste, so I had to really work on the shoulders t give them size, but now I am pretty nicely set up, and the work on chest lets my naturally wide shoulder shape ( when poster is right ) look impressive. I have to work my legs right now due to the knee issues but I have nice legs, and calves, very well defined. I am just not getting the full separation on all my upper body.Other issue with my upper body is my shoulders slant down a bit so I have to watch my posture to get the full extent of my spread. I have a bit of a hunch that I have been working on other wise I loose an inch or so, but standing at attention causes neck issues and a slouch is common with soldiers after they leave the service. Like I said the chest for me is a real problem spot, it always lagged behind until I started training it differently, with more volume and doing a fair bit of pushups of varying styles as well as working on very strict repetitions, isolation work and increasing the frequency in chest training( I do push ups every day) . Now it is in good shape, but marred by scars so it is hard to see some of the separation ( will be fixed soon I have plans to have some plastic surgery to leave me with just a few scars as opposed to the collection i have now). My arms are similar though good size, but My shoulders were always larger same with my traps. So the combination of huge delts and Traps, with smaller bi/tri they looked much smaller then they were, especially considering my forearms were beefy. The martial arts, football and wrestling from a young age made my back and legs way more developed. I have a nice set of wings going (adding to the imbalance with the chest being a little smaller then it should be still), and have finally reached the ability at my weight 220lbs to do 100 pull ups ( two sets of 50) and not feel like death, first time since I was in college I could do that. My forearms are big, from playing the guitar, and some climbing, but my bi/tri were a little under developed next to my shoulders. Working construction as a young kid/teen made my legs/back bigger, and stronger and playing as a back and wrestling did the same thing. It wasn't until I hit college that I began to train for more of a balanced look. Then the service and endless push ups started to help with the chest. Now I just need to get on it for more definition then strength I am benching 325 for 4-6 reps it takes it out of me but I can get real nice strict reps. But with the scars on chest, shoulders, some on the back, fore arms, legs, I am a tad self conscious and will never compete, unless I get the worst offenders fixed ( the chest is going to get done just because I want some ink and with out the removal the artist wont touch the chest its so jacked). Also I think I have small hands, but every one doesn't think so, though they all say my knuckles look like shit but yeah you try martial arts for most your life and construction and try not to have mits that look rough. Also after all the years training I have thick ass calluses on my hands, and feet and knees from the martial arts, from the pads and tape rubbing those areas. Also after I had my nipples pierced, i had some growth of the nipple tissue it grew out sideways a bit lol so yeah, plus the first time you forget to remove them and bench yeah hurts like a mother fucker.

Aside from that I have a few nice gifts,
I have a really high Iq ( in fact a mensa member), but that is balanced out by dyslexia. I am also lucky enough to have perfect pitch, and as such I play a few instruments ( guitar, bass, drums, piano and violin am currently learning the flute.) I can dance but my woman is like liquid on the dance floor soo graceful and she says I can dance well and has been teaching me since college ( she danced ballet in college). She also competed in Gymnastics specifically the pommel horse. I met her teaching dance, i took the class because I wanted to learn and she was gorgeous, what better ways to literally get your hands on a hot girlie.

This is going to sound girlie but I have great hair, and when I had it cut a year ago ( I did cut it for 3 years) from the day i left the service, I donated an almost 18 inch pony tail fro locks of love, the girl said it was sad I was cutting it but that my hair would make a fantastic wig fro one of theses kids with cancer. Hair is a dark black, was blonde when I was a youngin. Even after all the time of AAS use my hair has not been bothered, well not a lot well we say my widow peak is a little more pronounced then it would have been other wise but my hair grows fast, thick and straight. Not to sound like a cocky bastard but my girl who is reading this is telling me to say I have great eyes, not really relevant but i digress.

Oh one more down side I am prone to migraines and insomnia, so tren takes a whooping on me when I use it lol. I also get ingrown toe nails, from all the years of wearing boots, so I have to stay on top of that shit.

BTW sorry for the lengthy post.

My chest is definitely my best body part. I was told I had a great chest 2 years ago, I had only been doing pushups for a month. My shoulders are quite round and big, but my waist is equally wide, so I'm far from that wide shoulders tiny waist look.
I also believe I have a high IQ, plus I've not studied for any exam in the last 3 years, and I'm still passing. (I'm a sophomore now)
What bothers me is my shyness. I think it's because of the way my parents raised me. Fortunately I'm not shy anymore but public speaking still bothers me. It's a mild social anxiety
I have below average or average genetics for bodybuilding, but better than average intelligence.

- Dude thats good you can not study and pass but study hard and rock the grades mate . The better you can get them the better the scholarships will be bro. Hell I am the only one of my friends and family that went to college and have zero debt, I had a full ride, fro both under grad and grad. Use the brain to your advantage man, not having student debt and a degree from a great school lets you do what you want a lot faster then having to pay the loan back. Also go fro the Mensa test, I think its free I had a series of them done since I was young, but having the number also lets you put that and proof on college apps. You know how College is man, the numbers count, GPA, standardized test scores, extracurricular stuff ect ect. Just a little word of advice brother, use it to you advantage, and you can slide into things a little easier. Besides good study habits will help not just in college but inlife in general, the more organized you are about chasing down answers fro some thing you want to do and looking at the different angles the better you will be at storing the info in your brain and applying it.

* Sorry fro hijacking the thread a little bit Sero but I think the advice is good one for him because he is younger*

Neo if you have problems with migraines you should try supplementing high quality magnesium. I use to have 3 or 4 migraines a month when I was younger, and I know how much of a bitch they can be, but ever since I started adding magnesium to my supplement arsenal I haven't had a migraine in years. Also in the 6'3" master race crew ;) I wonder if taller guys have problems putting muscle on their chest, mine is pathetically small compared to my back and shoulders

Dude that is a good question, because I know a lot of cats our size that have that issue. Though my father 6'2 has a huge chest, always has, its his shoulders and legs that are small. Yeah I will have to try to do the magnesium, try peppermint oil extract it helps if you smell it it can cut down a migraine, as can good peppermint tea. For me they are related to stress, I have gotten them since I was very young to man I know they suck. I haven't gotten one in a decent amount of time, no especially since I have dropped my caffeine level down, and cut coffee out totally.

Caffeine is a big culprit, good point. I'm glad I cut that shit out to be honest, it was wreaking havoc on my sleep and making me dehydrated

Yeah man, I haven't totally cut it out, but I stop taking it in beyond 2pm. Though I have never been dehydrated from it but I drink a shit tone of water, 1-2 gallons a day 3gal on heavy training days and all summer long, but I sweat like frosty in the Sahara.

It's always cool to get advice from older guys
I'll definitely study for college, as I'll be learning what I enjoy.

Im also 6'2 and most of the time I dont realize Im above average there.
Also my brain is like its made of wood and you can hit it with drugs all you want I neither get damaged nor addicted but maybe I was just smart choosing my drugs I dont know.

^ lol no its not and its a nice lil trick to have.

@ Fly no worries man, I am use to having younger cats under me so I hand out advice force of habit. But glad your aiming for college, what are you looking to study at university eventually?

Most likely pharmacology. I have a huge interest in drugs (that's why I'm on bl) and I'd love to work in the drug field. I'm also interested in psychiatry and endocrinology. I don't wanna spend a dozen years in college though.

lol I can under stand not wanting to spend the time in college, but those fields require a fir bit of study.

Same here flyhighk, Neuro-pharmacology is my preferred interest...

Have you read Molecular Neuro-pharmacology a foundation for clinical neuroscience 2nd edition Nestler. Hyman. Malenka. 2009.

http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/Boo...&sts=t&tn=Molecular+Neuropharmacology

Or: Goodman & Gilman's Manual of Pharmacology and Therapeutics 2007.

http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/Boo...+and+Therapeutics&sts=t&x=29&y=16

At 15 you probably don't want to spend the next decade in College or Uni, but if Pharmacology or Endocrinology is your thing then its what you'll have to do.. It will be worth it in the long term, from the amount of information you will learn or have access to, plus qualification will have a huge future monitory value.....

Sorry I've had to copy & paste the links to the discount on-line book site, I hope you're not offended.......... :)

Exactly, in the sciences the paper matters. And much like real estate the location of that paper maters even more. but if you set your mind to it, work at it. it can be done. But It dose suck to have to start planning now, we expect kids to be kids still, but when making a plan for university you have to start early. I went into what are referred to as the soft sciences. But I would not have minded getting into infectious disease.

GF have you done any reading on the influence of mind altering substances on and thier connection with human consciousnesses, and the creation of religion, art, and the structure of society and societal norms? There is a good book by Terrance McKenna Food of the Gods, that deals with this a bit. It is out dated with the archeology and anthropological info but the theory is still a very sound one. And in fact can even be applied to close relatives of us. Neanderthals as we are beginning to see that they may have had a vastly more complex social structure then we previously thought and may have had language because we found the FOXP2 gene; it relates directly to language in their genome, and it was passed to us unchanged this in its self is a huge discovery as it proves interbreeding, as does the fact that large pockets of modern humans still have their genes but I digress. The effect of some of these powerful drugs could have greatly impacted human evolution both physically, mentally and socially. So While I don't dig on the science of psychopharmacology too much I like to look at the possible impact that branch of science has on the way in which culture forms, and arranges its self. It is killer right now with the rather severe stratification of the various sub-cultures that are based around some form of drug or another( our little happy group included bodybuilders and other PED users).

Thanks for the links, I'll check those books out once im done reading anabolics by william llewelyn.

^im like you fly, never had to study amd scored will on tests, got accepted to every uni I applied to, etc. Threw it all away for heroin though a few years back. Stay on track and follow your dreams and youll make it somewhere nice. Now I work a shit minimum wage job paying back my student loans that if I had graduated would have been all paid by the fed govt. Ah well live and learn right? At least I got the cash to drop on gear when im ready, and enough extra to still enjoy life. Amazing how much money one has when they arent supporting a habit (im sure guido agrees lol). The only needle ill use is for gear or peps, and I still love the poke >:)

Never to late to do some thing you want to do. You just have to plan your work and work the plan mate. And if you walked away from the situation having learned some thing then it wasn't a total waste.
