Your favourite HEALTHY recipes :)

I make a pasta dish that consists of VERY lean ground beef cooked in olive oil, and then marinara sauce poured over it and allowed to simmer. I then put this on whole wheat pasta and voila! A nutritious, low-fat dinner.

I'm sorry, I just cannot comprehend how anything with meat in it can be healthy. Carcinogens + cholesterol + sat. fat = short life span

Very lean ground beef is high in protein, zinc, b12, iron, selenium, phosphorous, niacin, b6, and riboflavin. In addition, it's got less than 5% fat, which is hardly any at all. And I would love to know where you got that meat is carcinogenic. In addition, it's low in cholesterol, but that doesn't even matter because serum cholesterol levels are not influenced by cholesterol consumed in food. And are you reffering to LDL or HDL, because HDL is healthy and good to have.

Not at all? I thought it was like 70% genetics 30% diet

The most bomb grilled chicken marinade ever.

1 small jar grey poupon (not huge bottle)
1 cup Newmans Own balsamic vinaigrette dressing
6 cloves of garlic, pressed
1/4 cup honey
If you have mustard with a lot of mustard seeds throw that in too.
(all measurements are inexact, I made this recipe up and just throw stuff together. The marinade should be slightly brownish yellow, and quite pourable)
Mix in a bowl with a whisk.
Take 4-5 lbs of chicken breast, put into large ziploc freezer bag, pour marinade over, mix around from outside of bag, so you cover everything with it.
Marinate for 24 hours.
Grill over charcoal

Eat.

Its really freakin good, and all purpose. I make about 5 lbs a week and eat it cold on sandwiches and salads. Its very flavorful and doesnt need any seasoning on salads or sandwiches.

not true. read some studies about lowering cholesterol levels with diet.

serum cholesterol is influenced by saturated fat, mainly arachidonic acid, in the diet but the effect of dietary cholesterol is negligable on serum cholesterol. There are other health problems associated with high dietary cholesterol, it's not like I'm reccomending eating a high cholesterol diet or anything...

flat chicken and roasts

Easy realy.

get a chicken and a bag of potato's

In the kitchen I get a bowl and add a mixture of finely diced garlic, herbs, olive oil and some chili or what ever comes to hand or palate.

Split the chicken with a knife, the bottom part leave the breasts together, cover with your prepared sauce all over.

lay chicken on the grill bit with baking tray under the grill part to catch dripping. Put in heated oven 180 or so,

Your potatos peel and dice rather big put in pan of water par boil for 1/2 minutes, drain water, put lid on and give them a shake, just to roughen up the edges.
Transfer to baking tray under the chicken, so the chicken fat cooks your tatties.
brocolli, sweet corn, carrots and peas or what ever...good recovery meal

well this is more of a snack than a meal. This is also very simple that an 8 yr old can do it.

Get some sliced bread. Put some tomatoes on it, slice it however u want and put some cheese ontop of it. Put it in the oven for a few minutes and there u go, a snack in less than 10 mintues.

>>Not necessarily. It depends how the tofu is cooked and what it is cooked with.>>

Right. Age (deep fried tofu) is hardly healthy...but is also fucking great. :)

>>Get some sliced bread. Put some tomatoes on it, slice it however u want and put some cheese ontop of it. Put it in the oven for a few minutes and there u go, a snack in less than 10 mintues.>>

I'm not sure if I'd consider something with a slab of cheese to be healthy.
...
I'll have to jump in with some of my recipies...this thread is rediculously carno-centric for a healthy foods thread. Actually, I'm not sure if anything I make is that healthy. I'm a high-fat vegan. :)
