So what I'm seeking is experiences that any of you had with tolerance and tolerance reduction with opioids.

This is going with the premonition that only abstinence effectively reduces tolerance to opioids. Generally, tolerance is a one way street but for those of you who have been able to reduce your tolerance what are your experiences?

What was your highest tolerance (i.e. dosage at one time to feel effects) and how much were you able to lower it thereafter, if at all?

How long did you abstain to accomplish this?

I remember taking a month off when my dosage was around 70mg oxy and my tolerance dropped by probably 30mg in that one month. But I'm hoping for insight with higher tolerances.

I'm not sure how much feedback I can expect but any insight would be appreciated. Cheers.

I was somewhere between 300-400mg of oxy for a few years give or take. I cold turkeyed in May or June. In November I had a chance to do some and 60mg was nice. I wound up doing around 150 and was in heaven. Tolerance is a funny thing.

5-10 days is the longest it takes me to go from whatever my tolerance happens to be to no tolerance again. Usually go for a week exactly.

Psychological tolerance though doesn't really go away - like when I drop my tolerance down I could have been using Fentanyl analogues in crazy high doses beforehand, but be down to using 150mg Codeine to get a nod going now - the difference is, even though I'll get a nice nod from that 150mg Codeine, I'll still always know that I'd feel even better if I took 300mg, so I'll wind up doing 300mg anyway, and so my tolerance starts its slow incline again.

You can drop your physical tolerance down to pretty much nothing, or literally nothing, but if you used to have fun with low doses for whatever your tolerance was back in the day but then you got used to high doses, you'll still always need the highest dose your tolerance can handle to enjoy the effects fully. i.e. you might have found 10mg Oxy fun your first times messing with opiates, but having tried it at higher dosages you might need the stronger effects of 30-40mg Oxy even with virtually no tolerance to get what you want from it.

Edit: I sort of didn't answer the thread properly, my bad, little tired, just woke up.

- My highest tolerance was smoking 25mg+ Butyr-Fentanyl in a dose, the highest dose I smoked being around 35mg. 0.5mg is enough to get a strong nod going with no tolerance for comparison, so my tolerance was 70x baseline or more at the peak.
- I did a fast taper with Bupe, jumping on 2mg and reducing the dosage by 0.5mg each day - then jumped off for a few days, and was able to get good effects from 150mg Codeine a few days later. Took about 10 days total.
