It's a pretty fascinating cross-section of the entire "drug using community", IMO...the people who post on here range from teenagers in high school who are experimenting with DXM & weed for the first times to hardened junkies who've lived on the streets from one high to the next "Basketball Diaries"-style. Along with psychonauts who are just into psychedelic hallucinogens, stoners, alcoholics, non-recreational drug users who have questions about prescription medicines they've received, etc. From ex-addicts who are into sobriety and helping people overcome their habits, to druggies who never plan on quitting. And the knowledge presented here ranges from neuroscience/pharmacology/chemistry etc. to more "practical knowledge" about how to mix shots of dope in a moving car or the best way to smoke crystal meth, LOL

I like the diversity of this website, I guess is what I'm trying to say. Anyone else feel the same?

I like that there's a mandate of HR and a climate that's (usually) conducive to discussion, understanding and learning. So much "online life" on social media seems to be mean spirited and always about trying to get the last snarky line. I really like that many people come together here and try to help each other out.

Agreed. This is it for me as well. :)

The mandate of Harm Reduction, promoting safe responsible recreational drug/alcohol use, learning coping skills for sober living and helping others is what's truly important for me.

The mandate of harm reduction allows for the discussions to be possible, it's like the freedom of speech that allows for some to say what nobody wants to hear.

Of course Discussions of Harm Reduction are important and is part of our Civil Rights/Liberties to be able to discuss these things.

Information and knowledge is power!

And a lot of the 'higher ups' want the public to be ignorant of information, because it is threatening to them and their agendas.

I love this site because I discovered it in '04 before they (we now) had a Cannabis Discussion forum when i was just starting my fumbling drug use. My only regret is that I didnt keep the account I made to ask a very young and naive question like 12 years ago... would have made me feel more important and cool.

But this website has been a part of my life since all I knew was weed and DXM and its where I learned everything I know in a sense, well erowid was first but this place like a year later when i was 16. From coming here at 16 asking about dxm, to college in a drunken haze bitching about problems, to blog entries about my rocky past involving IV heroin, now at the "post dope back to raving and psychedelic days" and on! But its through sharing my own experiences and reading others that i feel i can help the community, I have always wanted to help people understand drugs here i get to do it without judgement.

Plus it helps stroke my ego as I can sound intelligent here and be correct, when I post on science backed my math and tradition websites those dudes really lay into you when your incorrect about something lol.

This is exactly how I feel. I'm not much of a forum-dweller, quite frankly Bluelight is the first forum I've actually become a regular user of. And these (Burnt Offering's and bobby's) are the precise reasons for it. I always enjoy an intelligent discussion, now if you can couple that with broad knowledge, maturity and a topic I very much enjoy - drugs - then I'm all game.

Oh, and I've always liked helping people, especially with knowledge I can share.

It's the least restrictive and most accessible of Internet drug forums.

Also I can post everyday about my mundane habits and addictions and no one gives a shit.

I'm a newb here (I think I regged in like 2005 on a diff. account but it's been a while). I've been here so many times from Google it's unreal and the advice is always valuable. I'm really interested in psychs. I smoke weed. Would never touch hard drugs, but I do like to talk to/learn from people that do because everyone has a story and they're intelligent. I find those who use/used drugs have some amazing insights to offer to the world and that's what attracted me here.

We grow up in a society that teaches us drugs are bad and drug users are "scum". They couldn't be any further from the truth! Most people here have seen/experienced shit I never will and I value that insight.

Thats kinda disturbing bro. However. Easy answer! If I have work to do, coffee and valium. If I don't, weed or beer or both. If I stop posting, I'm dead.

I do enjoy seeing my friends in the HHAY thread, whihc I consider my home on the web.

Yup I understood what you meant. Just banter between BL fam.

I love now this place is filled with anglophones from everywhere and you have no idea where they're from because their vernacular is so good. The way phatass types, you'd think he were a port city gangstar (sic). I could go on and on.

That's a really good point Burnt Offerings, I never thought about that but BL really is a good cross section of all the people that use drugs. Even internationally to an extent. Definitely some parts missing because communicating through the internet is a barrier to some people... but pretty damn good.

Sometimes it's easy to forget everyone is in such vastly different places because through the screen everyone looks the same.

It's funny. I understand you're not really talking about me, because I mostly try to write in a more or less formal way, but that does apply to me in real life. See, I grew up listening mostly to 2Pac (+ some other hip-hop, like BTNH), so I adapted his general way of speaking and it can be quite funny in a certain context. For example in academia or fancy dinners with foreign guests. And yea, I'm white as white can be.

I was more comfortable when it was under bluelight.ru. ... mostly because laws are less enforced in former soviet countries. Right now I'm coming off 2 adderall IR (30mg) and at least 12-15 good hits of CLEAR smoke. During that time I completed plenty of work ( I work at a call center)...I have been prescribed benzodiazepines for awhile now , clonazepam 6+ and Temazepam 4+ along with some other mental well-being issues. I guess what I love about this website is that INFORMATION AND THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN INFORMATION WILL HELP SAVE LIVES AND HELP PEOPLE USE PSYCHOACTIVE SUBSTANCES RESPONSIBLY. Well guess Iam Benzolonely and I have plenty of up and down experience....last drug I used was Propofol- though it burned extremely bad I never woke up feeling so comfortable. Be safe all my fellow users; That 30mg Temazepam is kicking in so I am about to go smoke me a cigarette. %)
