Fellow Bluelighters

Now I apologize since this is my very first post as a "green-lighter" so be a little empathetic is all I ask. I've already am picking up on some of the proper etiquette in regards to ("Swim" and my "pet" bs). My only question is regarding to the timing for HOW MANY AND WHEN to take the 200 Mg Tagamet (cimetidine) tablets prior to taking xanax bar. One typically has a 4mg tolerance and is trying to either intensify or prolong a 2mg or 1mg pill, in hopes to eventually get the desire effects of only having to take half of a bar or just one bar. Lastly I would like to reinforce that gogle has been used as well as the other threads. The multitude of threads have been misleading and have not communicated a straightforward potentiation. I understand each person may be different and have their own opinions but I would just like to gather further knowledge from the veterans that have experimented. Thank you so much a nd I appreciate taking out the time to read my entire post,,and hopefully post a reply.

Reiteration:

1. How many Tagamet tablets should one take?

2. How long should my one wait to take the tagamet (cimetidine) (200mg each per tablet) prior to the administration of xanax for the optimal and best feeling result. (ive heard to take a total of 600 mg of Tagamet pior 45 mins, 3 hours, 1, hour etc) So timing is key and I am trying to find that out

3. One also has white grapefruit juice on hand and was wondering at what point should and how much of the juice should one consume prior to taking the xanax 2mg.

People have recommended 3 hours before taking the xanax bar which didn't do much for one, but then again one only took half of his normal dose which is 2mg.

Again I really appreciate this and understand that this may and should be under an entirely different thread. But you you cannot expect a kid whose never touched a basketball, to swish a 3 point shot with great form. I will get the hang of this and will be less of a nuisance to moderators and those workeing behind the scenes. Thanks again for any advice/ recommendations appreciated.

P.S one has already done a fairly amount of research and realize how strong and fast acting Xanax is and "why some may think there is no need for potentiation". So please welcome this new member with open arms and omit any sarcastic postings, or any posts of the like recently marked in quotations, I get this. I also understand that with one's intentions of potentiating xanax, I am not trying to accomplish a 35 mg hydrocodone buzz (which may be not shit for most of you). One is simply just trying to essentially make less equal more.

Much love, Long Health, New Experiences, and Safety above all else my fellow bluelighters

WGJ in small and infrequent doses only inhibits either CYP or other transporters in the intestine. Alprazolam already has a high bioavailability orally so, the juice wont do much if you drink a glass or two an hour before. Most studies would give WGJ three times a day for a week before to get the hepatic effects.

Tagamet is pretty weak too. Its easier, but its classified as a low or weak inhibitor of CYP3A4, the one you want here, which means it only raises the AUC of the prototypical substrate less than 1.5X normal.

I'm speaking from a perspective of a person who found this forum and I only wanted to find out how to potentiate my pain meds as I live in chronic pain. I hope I'm saying this stuff in the right place too. I just wanted to touch on the Tagamet for helping to potentiate anything. I hate grapefruit juice so that was a definite no for me. I used tagamet to help potentiate my prescribed pain meds I only take if I need them. I don't know much about it potentiating benzos but I would advise this person asking to be careful with that stuff. I only want the best for anyone and I am not speaking against the op at all. I just wanted to say that tagamet seems to have helped me with my pain meds but I don't know much about Benzos. I usually take 4 tagamet and 30 to 45 minutes later a pain pill and ibuprofen and Aleve and aspirin with it too. I hope my experience can help someone else especially if you live in chronic pain. I suffered on not being on anything from the Dr or even going to the ER for about 5 years to get them to be willing to try me on Tramadol. Then it was a build up to get stronger pain meds eventually because what I have is so out of the normal. You aren't supposed to have this much pain from it they say. I found the tagamet does help with the pain relieving affects. I actually don't get high or euphoria from the pain meds. I know it's weird. I know. As I said most of my illnesses and med experiences are not normal. So I appreciate all the advice and help I have gotten from here and I also appreciate everyone contributing their knowledge and I wish the best for everyone

Cimetidine can definitely potentiate substantially, helping to alleviate pain further. I’ve used it myself for this purpose. However, I will caution people that if you take it several times a day continuously for months on end, as I was, that you can run into problems if you stop taking it suddenly, especially if you go off opioids at the same time. Going through withdrawal from cimetidine at the same time makes the gastrointestinal side-effects of opioid withdrawal so much worse, at least for me. For that reason, I no longer use cimetidine. I’m just not willing to further disrupt my GI tract.

Wow well thank you for telling me about that. I take meds for a gi issue. That's what the pain meds are for. I try to use it 1 time a day at the most. Wow this is why I'm thankful for the people here and the knowledge and thank you for telling me about that. I will definitely try to start taking it less especially since I didn't know that you could withdraw from it and it can cause problems. Thankfully I don't have to worry about having to withdraw off the pain meds because they don't have any issues giving them to me. I'm blessed to have a great team of Dr's. I will be more careful with the tagamet going forward though. Thank you very much

I was also on a prescribed pain meds when I went through my combined hydromorphone/cimetidine withdrawal, but I went through withdrawal intentionally to lower my tolerance. You might need to do the same in the future. I’ve been on opiates for chronic pain since 2010, both prescribed and self-medicated, and I found that regular breaks are absolutely necessary for my meds to continue working.

If you do ever have to stop taking both cimetidine and an opioid, I highly recommend getting some granisetron (or odansetron, though I find the former substantially more effective). I would’ve had to be hospitalised for dehydration if I hadn’t had that, because of how bad the combined nausea and GI tract convulsions were.

I'm so sorry to hear about that and I do have Zofran and Phenergan and Benadryl and Librax which has librium in it prescribed to me so I will keep that in mind if I have to do that. Thank you all for your insight. I appreciate every knowledge I can get from anyone
