Xanax and Benadryl

So, i am curious as to my friends account of what happened after ingesting 4x 1mg Alprazolam ("Blue Footballs") and some ammount of benadryl.
He said that he was hallucinating, not like lsd, but more or less just stuff was distorted/stretching.
is it plausable that this can happen?

well it depends on how much benadryl he took......it is a strong deliriant in higher doses.

ive hallucinated off benadryl before, it can happen.

The big question is how the fuck he was able to stay awake after taking 4mg of xanax at once.

^ I would usually take 4-6mg to get a buzz and still drink on top of it and usually party all night. Of course my tolerance was rather high at the time.

yes if he took enough benadryl... its a deliriant, he obviously wasn't in full blown delirium.. if anything the benzos probably "sofened" the effects of the diphenhydramine
