xanax and alcohol waiting period

I DID use the search engine, and got really scattered results.

I took .5 mg xanax around one, another .5 around 3:45, .25 at 4:45 and then another .5 around 5:15. Totaling 1.75 mg with no tolerance, spread out over like four hours. I feel pretty sleepy, and maybe a little off-balance, but certainly not fucked up. Never taken xanax before (I threw a party last night and $300 got taken out of my wallet, plus someone stole my empty keg, which had a $100 deposit, so my roommate said I should calm down after I walked downstairs with a baseball bat waking up people crashing on the couch asking them where my money is)

Tomorrow is a big concert, the music doesn't start until around 3-4, but me and my friends probably will start drinking around 1. I've read everything from 8 hours to 48 hours, I don't want to get belligerent, will I get super fucked up and black out? Also, there may be pot involved. The alcohol/marijuana ratio will be greatly affected by the responses to this thread.
 
If you have a decent night's sleep then you'll be fine to drink tomorrow ;)
Alprazolam is fairly short acting so it won't act into the next day.
 
Start drinking slow and gauge how you feel. If you feel too fucked up pull back on the alcohol and drink some water. If you're good to go then great! Have fun!

thats the dumbest advice i heard. do you even know xanax or alcohol ? silly little girl :\
 
I had A beer around 11 last night and didn't feel it at all really. It's been 12 hours since then, 18 since my last xanax, probably gonna start in about an hour.

harsh, but it was poor advice.

way after you stop feeling the effects of a benzo, adding alcohol will still fuck you up more. you'll feel fine until you blackout, but i wouldn't worry about it the day after. also, you are doing it, so who cares.

sorry to hear about how your party went. hopefully the concert is awesome.

invest in a bike lock or chain and padlock.

Yea you fuckstick, I have been on Xanax for 3 years. Just came off of it. When I drank I aways drank slow to see how I felt even the next day. I was always careful when I fucking drank. If he took Xanax yesterday and planned to drink today all he needs to do is take it slow. Go fuck yourself that is if you can get your dick hard. What are you? 13?

Oh and stop sending sexually harassing PM's to me. It's pathetic.

How was the advice poor? If he took Xanax yesterday and was planning to drink today and was concerned about it.. then the best advice is to take it slow and gauge how he feels.. if he is getting "fucked up too fast" ect... if so pull back on the alcohol and drink some water. If he is that worried about it then he shouldn't drink at all.
 
^because most people cannot tell, especially when they are not very experienced with benzos. the night is going fine and you are getting drunk like normal, and then bam, it's the next day and you cannot remember what an ass you made of yourself. but i usually consider that a later in the same day problem. but i don't really know, and i am sure it is a matter of degrees, not a line.

On another note, if you are really having a problem with a user harassing you through PMs, bring it up with a mod. Do not make accusations in a thread.

No accusation.. it's in my inbox.

In my experience with Xanax the next day is pretty safe same day not so much... if it was klonopin or something with a longer half life I would give different advice.. I have had my fair share of blackouts due to me not being careful with drinking after taking Xanax. I learned the hard way... If 2 beers feels like 4-5 beers the safe bet is to back off and drink some water and calm down to try to avoid the black out.
 
I don't think it was bad advice at all, and I think the reply that asecin gave was utterly stupid and rather rude :|
It's a good idea to take it slowly (I cannot see how it wouldn't be good advice) and to keep an eye on how you feel. If you start to feel a bit too drunk then stop and get on the water.

I don't know what your problem is asecin, but don't take it out on other members.

anyway i wouldn't sexually harass u knowing how obsessed with sex you are and you might take it too far 8)

How in the hell is ^ not good advice? The guy took alprazolam the day before. Violenza always contributes good and accurate advice/knowledge, just like she just did.
 
First off Xanax has a rapid on-set time, but a very short half-life. By the next day, if no more alprazolam is taken, there really shouldn't be any interactions with the alcohol. Max dose of Xanax is 8mg every 24 hours. 1.75mg in relation to 8mg.... realitively small. Sleep it off and drink up tomorrow. You'll be aight.
