Would u recommend methadone maintenance for a 20 year addiction (15 year daily habit) of tramadol 700mg a day or around 800mg dhc a day depending on which I have.

I'd like to think I could maintain on 10mg methadone a day. Im in desperate need of some stability at present but also have legitimate spinal pain. Im not chasing a high, I would like geniune pain relief and addiction maintenance. I have access to a decent clinic.

Methadone worries me because I've read you can build a tolerance quickly plus I do not want to be feeling sleepy or noddy. I know u guys have loads of experience so I hope u can help.

And please don't recommend buprenorphine because sadly it doesn't agree with me anymore.

I have heard of people on UnGodly doses and the withdrawals terrify me. If anything, Subutex is a much better option. If you are in legit pain, any normal opioid you can get from a doctor is a better option. Methadone is some twisted shit. Out here it's not called the "Methadone Mile" for nothing. Methadone makes Tramadol or DHC seem like baby aspirin. So yeah, my advice is Bupe.

Can't take bupe. I have reactions to it

As long as you don't increase your dose above 10mg, it shouldn't be a worse problem but usually the dose increases and the withdrawal from methadone is quite harsh.

If you are going to be on opiates for a long time then go with the methadone. Tolerance builds slower
It's that catch 22 situation whereby u r desperate to get off the drugs and see yourself off them very soon but never actually seem to stop no matter how hard you try. And then another 5 years has gone by.
