i have been clean off heroin (iv) for about 45 days now. i was curious if i was to IV just once in a while if i will have those dreadful intense withdrawals?

im sorry if there is already a thread like this. my appologies
 
You will not wd if you only use occasionally - but realistically, if you start using again you will probably fall back into addiction and thus wd.
 
The question is are you strong enough or have enough will power to only use every once in a while as planned. Anytime I quit and decided to use one more time it ended up starting the whole ordeal all over again. But Im an addict, maybe you have more will power than me, if you do then I doubt you would go through withdrawals only using once a month or something like that.
 
i was previously addicted to heroin for several years and i ended up getting clean in february 2008. i have used since then but never enough to become physically addicted again. the truth is though, even using once now is enough to make me feel kind of depressed and crappy for a few days.. its not physical withdrawal but its still shitty and its never worth it, i regret it every time.

ive said this in other threads and i really believe it: heroin is an all or nothing type of drug. i would rather be a hardcore daily user or totally clean.. anything in the middle just sucks.

whatever you decide to do, i would suggest waiting at least a couple months before you attempt to start using occasionally.. 45 days isnt really enough time for your brain to heal and balance itself out.
 
well i was put into a program (i dont want to be in) so i have not much choice but to use once in a while. yeah im an addict but i am going to just do it once in a while. i just dont want to be dope sick. also any tips for iv'ing? ive only had a friend do it for me. is it true if you use the vein closest to you on the inside of your elbow it will collapse (my friend said that, she only shot me in the ones on the outside on the inside of my elbow)
 
I made a thread exactly like this the first time i quit using H. I made it expecting that i was going to be able to control my use since I managed to get through the physical addiction part. I'm tellin you man, don't start using heroin again, especially so soon. You're going to end up doing it everyday again. You wont go into withdrawal from doing it one time, but I'm sure you're not going to end up just doing it one time.
 
You collapse viens from lots of injections, dull needles, bad technique, its not gonna collapse just because its closest to your elbow. Just look for a plump one register and shoot its not as complicated as people make it out to be.

yeah i know this but for some reason she said that that vein is no good to shoot into. i dont think its complicated to do i watched her do it to me many times on the one in my elbow but thats away from me. im just scared il put the needle in too far or something to that nature. i think il be fine doing it, i just get nervous sometimes.

I do it every now and then, but Ive never been addicted to it. I just cant get it that easy. But, Ive never had withdrawels from it doing it the way that Ive been doing it. I do have alot of friends that have been addicted to it and try to only do it on occasion, but they cant seem to do it. Best of luck to you though.
 
Yeah you wont withdraw but it will be hard not to say ok just 2 days in a row. Well maybe 3 etc. I did oc every day for about a year. I quit for a month and i use about once a week or every 2 weeks now. Mainly because i moved 2.5 hours from my source and really dont want to find a new one. Ill use maybe a 30mg roxi on a friday and another 30mg on saturdays. Then nothing till at least next weekend. I dont have withdrawal but i do feel unmotivated and depressed fro sunday and monday. So if your going to dabble its easy to fall back in the trap. Be safe have fun
 
With previous serious physical dependence it returns very fast, even with a short 2-3 day run. You have to pay to play, it will never be quite like pre-dependence days again. Sad to say, sorry OP.
 
And most likely you will go back for a run if you're an addict and start using again. Just once in awhile always leads back. 80% of the time. That's the relapse rate according to stats and rehab. Go on a run for a few days and you'll be right back going into physical withdrawals.

That's so unbelievably true, even if your not an addictive kind of person to start with, if you play around with her, she'll consume you...

what the fuck kind of harm reduction advice is that lol? There are many ways for first timers to be careful with their veins! I was proper cautious everytime when I started, it kept me functioning for a long time, hell it still is this time around..
