Wierd conversation at work today.. Your opinions???

I really don't know how the topic got brought up cause I walked into the room mid-conversation... But my co-workers where talking about this woman they know who soaks thier tampons in vodka and then inserts them to get her drunker quicker?????
Something about it being closer to the blood etc etc....
Has anyone else heard of people doing this????
I mean first of all a tampon couldnt hold that much vodka(in my mind I'm a guy) to get someone drunk. or even buzzed at all....
Second of all isn't there a risk with usuing tampons something like TSS(Toxic shock syndrome) wouldnt the risks be more if someone did this???
If so seems to me this person is just taking a crazy risk just for a good buzz...
Could be all talk but was just wondering everyone elses thoughts on this one???
 
Wow! Now that is hardcore. It dosent seem like it would work or be safe. Ohhh and it would hurt too!

toxic shock syndrome is believed to be caused by high absobtion rate tampons... basically it sucks all the moisture out of you, so putting vodka in it wouldnt cause that.

it works like plugging a pill or something like that, but i cant imagine it would be easy to get a vodka soaked tampon in....

Look, Im no doctor but seriously..........I think simply being closer is not going to achieve much............lol.

Plugging works yes, vaginal insertion doesn't AFAIK. More likely to end up with a nasty yeast infection :o

No I don't think they were messing with me since they were already talking about it before I walked in the room... Could be just another urban myth or something that they heard from one of thier friends though
 
From the University of Ottawa :

Routes of administration of alcohol may vary. The main reasons for IV injection include; rapid onset of effects, enjoyment of the injection itself, recent alcohol consumption is concealed (useful if alcohol consumption is prohibited) and low doses are required for intoxication. Side effects include burning pain and inflammation at site of injection. Other routes reported: snorting vodka, vodka soaked tampons.


I'm not sure how well it works, or even if it's common, but it would seem to have been reported somewhere.
 
I can't imagine how someone could do that...the inner tissue of the vagina is so sensitive..it's a whole delicate balance going on in there..shoving a harsh abraisive like vodka up in there seems like it would burn a LOT.

But there are always stupid people who do stupid things, so it doesn't suprise me.
 
My gf used to do that. She told me and I giggled. Tried it once myself but the tampon got all big and soaked and wouldn't go in.

I'm sure you all wanted that particular mental image <3
 
How in the world can you insert a wet tampon? It would be like trying to push some wet mush into your vagina. If this is true, then some people are fucking idiots.
 
I've heard of this before...

actually, the story I heard was of high school kids
(mostly girls if I remember correctly)
who would give themselves vodka ememas before school
this way they could get drunk before class
and the teachers couldn't smell it on their breath

I'm sure the soaked tampons are just another way to do it
in the butt = quick absorbtion into the bloodstream
 
I spose you could soak it, and then squeeze it out til it was kinda small enough to insert.

I'm sure there are people who would try it. But somehow I doubt it would be a good way to get drunk. And it sounds like it would sting.

I read an article once about how it was all the rage among Scandinavian girls, but I've never actually known of anyone personally who has done it. I don't see how you can soak a tampon in anything and still be able to insert it, unless you soaked it while it was still in the applicator and then tried ...
