Why would a state of non-duality be desirable?

Why would a state of non-duality be desirable for human beings?

Why would it be preferable to the constant struggle of opposites? (e.g. self/other, ego/Universe, human/God, inner/outer, change/steadiness, reason/emotion, male/female, loneliness/human interaction, individual/society, good/evil,...)
