I have limited experience with phenobarbital. But I can certainly say that it beats benzos any day, and I thought it was the best downer out there... until I tried secobarbital.

I came across 5 red capsules, these are the new Marratton manf. Seconal 100mg.

I decided to use one capsule to counteract some awful side effects or possible w/d of an RC benzo (flblam)

and i I have to say... It was the best downer I've tried so far.

I was having brain zaps and minor hallucinations + tremors, when I took the capsule I felt an enormous wave of relief. It feels like beign really cold and sick, but then dropping into hot bath and and feeling all negative things go away.

But, after that, strong waves of euphoria and pleasant tingles come on, something that I never experienced with phenobarbital.

My question is: Why am I unable to experience this on phenobarbital? After all, they're both barbiturates, but why is Seconal so much better?

it has a different chemical structure which facilitates greater activity. Where did you get ahold of this rare drug!?!?!

The easiest way to properly explain the differences between pheno and seco: They are both barbiturates, nembu, seco, amo, (barbital) anon are drugs with mainly CNS sedative properties. Phenobarbital is long-lasting (possessing a long half-life), which is what makes it an effective medication for mitigating status epilepticus. Due to the long half-life, a relatively stable condition is produced, with less "peaks and troughs".

Secobarbital, possesses virtually all of the properties of phenobarbital, but has a much shorter half-life. The short half-life makes it an effective sleeping pill. I believe, in the heyday of barbiturates, drugs like secobarbital and pentobarbital were touted as highly effective sleeping aids, or sedatives for crazy/depressed housewives (Mother's Little Helper). In short, secobarbital will sedate you noticeably in comparison to phenobarbital.

Ive had phenobarbital when I was using it to detox off of benzos and honestly didn't find it better than your average benzo at all. It made me feel really sedated, didn't relieve as much anxiety and didn't last nearly as long.

Phenobarbital was great for opiate wd. They gave me way too much to the point I was stumbling into walls when I tried to walk to the bathroom. But--I slept for almost 4 days straight and woke up with the bad part of wd passed
