Why is cannabis so potent during the afterglow of MDMA and mushrooms?

I've always wanted to know why this occurs? I find the cannabis high the day after taking MDMA is always incredible.

Is there a strong representation of CB receptors in the serotonin system? I would think the immediate down-regulation of serotonergic receptors wouldn't have much effect on one's overall reaction to cannabanoids. Or is it just potentiation of trace amounts of MDMA or psilocin?

Any thoughts on this?

I thinks it's just the "neurological exaustion" wich makes you more "vulnerable" to cannabis. Somewhat like drinking alcohol on an empty stomach.

During the afterglow there is still an increased release of serotonin with mdma and an increased 5ht agonism with mushrooms. This gives cannabis more serotonin to act on making it better.

I become much more sensitive to marijuana after mdma use. Using it after psychedelics brings back aspects of my trip again.

After a night of MDMA me and my friends would smoke copious amounts of cannabis. We would actually notice that no amount of weed could really get you stoned at all. The effects were very much reduced but still pleasurable, perhaps in a different way I cannot really recall.

same here sometimes too much soo and a flashback occurs for me, but still i think its the release of seretonin like how taking 5-htp after smoking a few times then smoking after taking it feels like urfirst toke off the day

Neither of these things are true.

Humanity currently lacks sufficiently sophisticated pharmacology knowledge to give you an answer rooted in neurochemistry. moving thread to PD.

I believe for a day or two after you take MDMA the levels of it in your blood are still quite high; your brain just develops an acute tolerance so you no longer feel the effects. When you smoke weed, your tolerance to the MDMA is temporarily lowered.

I could be wrong though.

This was my first assumption that there is still trace amounts and the cannabanoids intensify the low circulating levels. Its just way to obvious of an increase to go unnoticed and I actually really enjoy the high during the afterglow. Glad I'm not the only one who notices this.
