okay so heres my predicament: A while ago i got some ketamine and did it about 2-3 times and remember it just made me dizzy and nauseous (im unsure about the dosage). I decided to get some more after reading reports of how people loved it so much and how awesome it was to k-hole. So yesterday I got some more and weighed out 50 mg and snorted it. i waited about five minutes then got the familiar feeling of dizziness and nausea. i then tried to snort another 50 mg (I had very poor motor skills) and barely did it. i laid down and started feeling like I had the flu. I was nauseous, dizzy, wanted to throw up, had a horrible drip, and my nose was stuffed. I didn't get the chance to k-hole (mostly because whenever I tried to move i felt like i was about to throw up) so I just laid on my side until it wore off and still felt like i was gonna throw up after it did wear off. People describe it as being so fun but for me, it just made me sick. So, i guess my question is: Is this normal for beginners to feel like this, how do I reduce these symptoms, and am i doing something wrong? thanks guys.

That's normal. I don't enjoy ketamine much either. I'v had some very weird/interesting experiences in the k-hole but I wouldn't say they were particularly enjoyable and then I dont like the come down, which is why I don't do ketamine anymore.

it's not your thing, drugs are not universal.

no big deal, just leave it alone.

i don't enjoy ket as much as other drugs either really.

try bumping smaller amounts. Do that 50 mg in 5 bumps with 5-10 minutes in between each bump and you will notice a HUGE difference. I always got a much better result slowly redosing vs going all in.

bumping smaller amounts seems like the next logical step - but if the dude doesn't like it, why not just cross it off on his list and move on? why acclimatize yourself to something you didn't like from the get-go?

if visuals and such are your thing, go for the psychedelics; my personal favourite is peyote (soooo hard to get in the UK, but plentiful in the US).
perhaps its because i like geometry..

I had a friend who would do any drug you put in front of him but after giving him a line of ketamine he was scared shitless and would never go near the stuff again.

I don't see the fun either unless its small doses its a horse tranquillizer so its not going to be everyone's forte so to speak.

100% ketamine is a very sickly drug for beginners I was using ketamine for months (snorting small amounts like 0.2gram bumps) and I would always fell sick. but your body becomes used to ketamine so quick. After a year of snorting K I could snort 1/2 a gram to a full gram and not fell sick. You just have to get your body used to it for the sickness to stop. If you want to K-Hole though snorting it isn't a great way to do it you have to snort big big amounts im talking gram lines and you still wont hit a full K-hole. Most people that snort ketamine think they hit K-holes but are really only brimming the start of it. I thought I had hit hard holes in my time snorting it but it was only when I learnt to use ketamine IM I fond out there was a whole higher level to it. I only use ketamine a couple times a year now (due to health problems because of ketamine abuse) Using IM to hit a K-hole. I go months between use now and still never get a sick felling. Ketamine is a ridicules drug and there really isn't anything else quite like a K-Hole. Ketamine is a love or hate thing with people I personally love it and would say its one of my top 3 drugs its just a shame the stuff is posing when you abuse it :(

Exact same experience except I was the friend.
Its good in tiny bumps to get a pseudo-drunken buzz, but a huge line took me to a place that I cannot even begin to relate. ughhh

It's used as a horse tranquilizer but i feel 'dissociative anesthetic' is more appropriate. I love it, it's like powdered lucid dreams. Maybe OP is having an isomer issue.

Very true..

Yep it has more uses in the medical field too. It can be used to ''reset'' a persons brain when they are in chronic pain and has been shown to relieve pain for periods of time after the patient has been put into a dissociative state.
It also works directly on certain receptors in the brain that have been known to control pain but it doesn't work for everybody. The people it does work for seem to get significant relief of their pain without having to take painkillers all day and being an addict.

NIH had a recent study it was being tested for depression.

I personally don't like it but I could be biased as I took too much once with a friend and absolutely could not move off the couch… It was freaky. I was watching people at a party, but was completely immobile. 8(

Funny you mention this because for me in the throes of a heavy heroin withdrawal i could do a bump of ketamine and withdrawals would flee without a single trace.

And i also notice about a month long anti-depressive effect after taking one dose.

I dont want the month-long antidepressant effect.
I like my depression. Keeps me sane.

I was a ketamine addict for 6+ years I first tried heroin when a major dry spell hit (no ketamine for 3 weeks) not long after I came dependent on opiates but got clean after 2+ years. Ketamine would really help my WD. safe to say iv been opiate free ever since but still find my self using ketamine every couple of months

The problem with k for me is its total lack of euphoria, even DXM has more euphoria than ketamine. I would actually enjoy DXM if it lasted as short as ketamine. I HATE being dissociated for extended periods of time though, makes me feel so dead emotionally, like I am not human. One time I took too much delsym extended release (I wasnt even using recreationally, just trying to ease opiate wd) next thing I know I am dissociated for 24 hours. I even had a meeting with a priest that day to discuss doing some volunteer work and I was all fucked up on DXM during the meeting. The only dissociative i find really enjoyable is nitrous but it lasts too short and I consider it such a waste of money.

Ketamine, or dissociatives in general tbh, are not a very enjoyable high for alot of people. I personally get zero euphoria from ketamine evem when IM'ed and think dissociatives are almost the least enjoyable class of drugs, though that's not to say you can't have a rewarding experience from them. Just shrug it off and move on...
