Stimulants Why does taking amphetamine do nothing for me?

I have tried high percentage of amphetamine to help me to focus for studying, but instead of the expected increased energy levels and alertness I just feel tired and foggy. I have taken 130mg of amphetamine and felt absolutely nothing. This is worrying, and I was wondering if anyone could help me? Thank you. EDIT: I have no history of heavy drugs, other than occasionally taking MPA or EPH for studying. (EPH didn't work either). I took the amphetamine orally in 3 separate doses to reach 130mg.

Apparently it's 70% amphetamine, and it just doesn't seem to work for me. I even went full idiot and orally took 150mg in a capsule and again felt nothing. I don't even get any of the negatives, e.g. hunger and sleep deprivation.

If you feel nothing at that dose, then it's not speed. Ya got ripped off.

If I take 0.5 of eu street speed I feel relaxed, almost tired and i even yawn cause that's a low dose for the standard of eu speed. So I'd guess that's what a low dose of amphetamine does.

You take 0.5 grams?! That seems crazy, I am afraid to take over 200mg incase I am damaging myself without knowing it.

It's also important to differentiate feeling nothing at all, and feeling cloudy-headed and tired, they are technically different things. It certainly sounds like it's not "high percentage" at all. Even in divided doses, 100+mg should have you barely able to sit still and very likely either feeling like a God incarnate or like you're going to have a heart attack.

If you have the time and equipment to do so, you can purify street amphetamine with an acid/base extraction.

Dissolve crude amph paste in water, add enough lye or lye solution to get pH > 11,
Extract with one of: naptha, heptane, hexanes, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, ether, toluene, etc, (you need a solvent that doesnt dissolve in water, add it to the paste you dissolved earlier and really mix it well)
Seperate the solvent off, put the water aside, it is corrosive waste that should be poured down a drain that needs cleaning... the solvent has your free base amphetamine now.
Add e.g. aqueous concentrated HCl (or sulfuric/phosphoric/citric... whatever) with vigorous mixing to the organic solvent until you have an aqueous solution which is just acidic to litmus, this way you extract all the free base amphetamine into the water layer as a hydrochloride salt, then you can seperate the water layer off (discard the solvent layer) & boil it gently to dryness (do this in a well ventilated area, if you use HCl there will be fuming if you used an excess of acid) to yield crystals of pure amphetamine plus whatever other alkaloid contaminants there may be... ephedrine etc)

Or you can recrystallize your stuff, you could even try recrystallizing it from boiling water, I'm not sure how well that might work. Look online for recrystallization procedures.

If you don't have access to solvents or glassware to do this in, you can always try washing your amphetamine with dry acetone, that can dissolve some added cuts and other stuff, but it doesn't always work with everything.


Also, if what you were sold is a wet paste, ignore what your dealer might say, and let it dry out as much as you can. Amphetamine sulphate should be a crystal or microcrystalline powder, any "wetting" is caused by water or alcohol added as bulking agents. If you remove the water weight it will make your speed more potent per milligram.

Thank you for this information, I probably won't go through the trouble of doing that as I must have some abnormal tolerance to amphetamines. (I just doubt the quality). It's really only frustrating.

Also, I tested the amphetamine using an ecstasy Ez Test Kit that includes an amphetamine chart and when I tested it the substance turned black/extremely dark brown instead of the red/orange on the chart. Not sure what this means, but it's troubling. Any information would be highly appreciated.
 
You got ripped off, there's no amphetamine in that thing, you did NOT take 130mg. Don't ever try to take 130mg of pure amphetamine.

It means there's very little, if any, amphetamine in there. Throw it out, unless you've got more than a few grams and want to spend a few days trying to purify it.

It's more likely you got ripped off than you having a tolerance to the point where 100mg+ gives you no effects...

Can I just note though, I took over 350mg because I was seriously doubting this product and wanting to go 'all out' before chucking it away (which I have done now) and again experienced nothing, except, except I did. I felt... anxiety. That was it, almost as strong as an anxiety attack. No urge to re-dose, only wishing I hadn't have taken the substance in the first place. Thank you for your helpful information as I would have probably assumed I had some weird tolerance and continued to consume the rest of the product.

Lastly too, the product was almost white, and came as a paste. I dried it out in two separate batches, 6 hours and 24 hours. It dried, but only to an extent as it still wasn't powder. I tried snorting some, and it just got stuck up my nasal passage. Needless to say I blew my nose as it was irritable.
