Is there a differnce between crip and chronic? If so, are chemicals added? Therefore, may this be the casue why i panick or go on a bad trip in social setting?

neither cryp nor chronic are types of cannabis, simply nicknames.

chemicals aint in your ganja.

dont smoke as much next time, and maybe try smoking alone a few times, you may just be an introvert instead of an extrovert, and just dont know it yet.

cannabis accentuates/amplifies situations and feelings, the same as LSD does.

dont underestimate it.

I've had this problem myself recently and found the best way to cure it is to quit all together for a while and starting back slow. Take a break for a month or two and then start smoking maybe once or twice a week and see how you feel. If you're still feeling anxious then maybe it's time to quit for good. George Carlin once said that weed is a drug that can bring about some healthy mental changes but it's also one that eventually suggests it's own disuse.

I don't really know what those nicknames refer to, but no there aren't any chemicals in the weed. Part of the weed high, for a lot of people, is paranoia. In a group you might feel uncomfortable...I agree with maybe smoking with a close friend or two and seeing what happens then.

Overall, what you feel is normal and something that can happen when you smoke pot...doesn't involve any other chemicals.

As someone has already stated, there's no chemicals added to your herb, man. And there's no "difference" between "crip" or "chronic," as someone else also stated. It's just slang people use.

Do you get the same weed that your friend get? Like, do you go to the same dude or something? Or do your friends have better weed than you're normally used to? Cause that could be the case. If you're used to smoking really shitty weed, and then your friend have some dank, that could be what causes you to get paranoid.

How much do you usually smoke when you smoke by yourself? And when you smoke by yourself, when you're high, are you comfortably high, or do you still get paranoid?

There's just so many variables, that nobody on here will know. But, to try and help with your problem, the best advice I can give, is to smoke less when you're out with your friends. Smoke enough to get a decent head change, and then just sit back and relax. If they offer you more, just politely turn them down. You don't have to hit it, every time it's passed to you. Just smoke till you're comfortable, and enjoy it bro. The more you smoke socially, the less paranoia you should feel. It's just all about getting comfortable.

...If all else fails, eat a xannax before you smoke. Just take like, .5mg and see if that helps at all. No need for heroic doses. Lol.

Anyways, sorry for the long post. Good luck, man.

Edit:

just get comfortable with the people your smoking with...

That's also sound advice.

Because weed makes your mind wander off, and sometimes your mind can wander off to irrelevant places that strip you of your confidence, especially when your in a group setting, those glaring eyes can become a convenient target for your mind to turn on you.

Its all about shifting perceptions, to stop thinking so much, regain control from the autopilot mode and then give yourself encouraging thoughts that will boost your confidence and empower you, also helps to realise that life is short and how ridicilious it is to worry about other people in the grand scheme of things. Add a total lack of fear from death to the equation and you can talk yourself out of any form of anxiety at its first sign.

I understand how you feel. When i was smoking a bajillion blunts a day...weed caused me no paranoia because i was so used to being stoned all day everyday...Past few years i smoke weed once or twice a month if that and if im not with people i know sometimes ill start freaking out haha. The key is to try and stay out of your head im starting to notice. Stay in conversation and just remember everything is OK. Nobodys out to get you. I suggest you stay away from crack cocaine if you are having this problem

unlucky is right. and to my knowledge and according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronic, http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=chronic, and http://www.channels.nl/knowledge/29865.html with a little knolwedge of my own in there,
Crip: Is an american slang term, popularised by Dr Dre and various other rap artists. The word crip, is a verry widely used word among the youth with various possible origins. it is used to describe a particualr scent and set of characteristics exibited by a number of strains. One possible origin is through connections with the crypts, a wide spread street gang, though this is doubtfull. It has been said that it was a nick name given because of the saying "it is so good it criples your thoughts" because of it's high potency. Another possible origin is jargon refering to bud with decent crystilization or a mispronounciation of chrispy due to cotton mouth sounding like crippy being shortened to crip for ease. It does not describe a particular strain and generaly describes high quality, seedless sensamillia. Crip weed is known for it's pugnant, crisp, citrusy sent usualy unable to be contained by a single ziplock bag.

Your typical "crip" weed refering to cannabis that is most commonly indica of the purple, blue or dark green types. The crystals are usualy light or white usualy, with a high that lasts from 4-6 hours. Side effects from this type of weed may some times innitialy causes a burning feeling in the eyes, extreme dehydration, and paranoia[from blue strains], but that happens with all weed to an extent.

Chronic:
Now days chronic gets thrown around by hundreds of people as a catch all term for realy great weed, but chronic is not a term to be thrown around lightly. Pupularized by Dr Dre's 1992 album titled The Chronic, a strain called hydro-chronic won 3rd place at the 1994 High Times Cannabis Cup spreading seeds to countless farmers. It is dark green with red or dark brown hairs it has exceptionaly thin yet suprisingly supportive, purple stems. New age "chronic" has a verry sharp scent that almost bites your noise, for this reason it is known to cause you to cough, leading to elevated heart rate. The increased the speed that THC goes to your brain causes an elevated rush. It is 100% indica with a hint of purple on the lower, inside of the nugs.

A typical high from "chronic" based strains lasts 8+ hours and has been known to cause a "greenday" or weed hangover the next day even in some who who normaly smoke every day. Like the medical definition of chronic the high long lasting and persistant with a peak 30-60 minutes after it's use leading to over consumption.

There may be many reasons you feel paranoid while smoking, but one may just be that you personaly shouldn't smoke weed in social environments. For some people it slows down thier brain and makes it hard to keep up with the conversation and on top of that it's not any easier when your mouth is a desert. Another reason for the paranoia might just be WHO you are around while you are smoking, or the environment you are in. If it is a sketchy situation or you don't feel like smoking is a good idea you realy don't have to and probably shouldn't. If you feel that smoking is causing a problem for you in a social sourounding then maybe try smoking less. Unless you have a medical condition you have no NEED to smoke. Try only smoking 1-3 hits and seeing how that works out. Also it might just be simply be because you are smoking indica's and like to smoke sativa's. Sativa's are known to produce a more energenic, bubbly feeling, maybe this is what you are looking for. they tend to be better in a more social sitiation with less mental effect. But realy, if you feel like it's a problem, you realy shouldn't be making a habit out of it like BottleOfOxy sugested.

good luck figuering stuff out and stay safe.

Well said.

When I was into smoking socially or in groups I'd just pick and choose when I'd smoke and there were times when I would not smoke at certain social events since I knew I wouldn't have a fun time.

Developing a tolerance can help too but this means you have to smoke more and more and you won't get as high as you would from a little bit of herb.

There's also just accepting the fact that you get paranoid/anxious from herb and smoking less like a single hit or two from a bowl and seeing how that works for you and then just going with it if you get paranoid.

For What It's Worth

Paranoia strikes deep,
Into your life it will creep.
It starts when you're always afraid,
Step out of line, the men come and take you away.

No idea. IME 10% of paranoia is biological 90% is in your head.

Bit of a umm.. silly statement..

Everything you feel and think is physiological xP Hence why some drugs can stop paranoid thoughts, others can bring them on..

To the OP: I personally suggest stopping smoking.. atleast for now.. Cannabis started making me paranoid (especially in social situations) and it only got worse.. to the point i'm now having trouble healing after a long time abstinence.

god, i used to be a mega stoner. thing is, when i was younger, all there was to smoke was hash and i could smoke it all day and feel good. then all of a sudden hash disappeared and skunk was everywhere. now, that skunk took being stoned to a whole new level. its not good for you.
