Why do my eyes get pinpoint on amphetamines?

Okay, I asked a similar question in the middle of a thread so wanted to know if anybody could answer this. When I take high doses of stimulants my eyes get really pinpoint. Yesterday I took about 120mg of Desoxyn and my eyes got really pinpoint, again, today I have taken about 90mg so far and once again, my eyes are pinpoint. My eyes seem to get more pinpoint the more that I take. One of my largest binges I took about 350mg of Adderall and not only did my eyes get REALLY pinpoint but I felt sedated like I was on an opiate. I looked like I had. Like I was nodding.

So my question, does anyone know why this is? Has this happened to anyone else? Generally what happens to your eyes? And have anyone of you felt sort of like sedated after taking mass quantities of any sort of amphetamines?

Right now I'm on Desoxyn and my leg is moving really fast and I certainly look like I'm tweeking, not sedated or anything but if you look at my eyes, they are pinpoint !?
 
My eyes have never been pinpoints on meth/amphetamines, but they rarely dilate either. The drug just doesn't seem to affect my eyes much at all, for some reason. I wondered if it's a tolerance thing. I've never felt sedated after dosing, though sometimes I get a weird detached feeling - especially if I'm already sleep deprived.

no i mean without any drugs my pupils are either extremely small or extremely large. So it may be due to something other than drugs.
 
My eyes don't become dialated or pinpoint while on adderall. I also don't get that bugged out look. The only way you can tell is because I have to chew gum to stop my jack from clenching and messing up my teeth. I chew the gum extremely fast to the point where I wake up with an sore jaw and ear ache the next day on the side the gum was on.

Yep, that's a common side-effect of stimulants - especially amphetamines.

I think it's strange how some people experience the opposite! I can't think what would cause it.

i talked about this in another post before...but i have. we were up all day/night smokin meth. towards around 3 or 4am, i started to get sleepy like, drowsy, sedated. it was really strange. i asked my friend why i felt like this?! we were smoking meth...and a lot of it. he said that can happen when you do a large amount of meth....then we smoked more and i was awake again haha.

amphetamines are known ofcourse for making you hyper, energetic, awake, but i guess when you do so much, it can cause the opposite effect?

Yeah, it mostly happens when I binge rather than just taking 60mg of Adderall or something like that. The night before I also took a few hits of methamphetamine before taking the Desoxyn and about a few hours later my eyes got pretty small.

I usually don't use methamphetamine that much. I save up my Desoxyn so that I can have a nice few days out of the month tweeking. I don't much come around crystal.

Remember you take Bupe pumpkin. I have pin point pupils and I take varies dosages of damp. The ONLY time they get huge is oddly if I add a benzo wait awhile and dose again or is I just havent used a certain stimulant in awhile. The methadone is the reason for my eyes. I don't quite understand it either. At night after I take klonopin or xanax, ill go for food and it seems my eyes get more bugged out than they were but that could be because of the darkness lol
 
After a good session, and some dimmer lighting, my pupils pretty much take up all the blue, and even in daylight, will stay huge. its pretty much my only giveaway, but it goes away if I take a powernap, who ever feels like doing that though? lol
 
That's a paradoxical effect. Stimulants, especially amphetamines and cocaine activate the sympathetic nervous system which dilates pupils, increases bowel motility, stimulates sweat glands, causes bronchodilation - it's basically the fight or flight response.

As opposed to the parasympathetic system, which does the opposite (that's the system that opioids activate).
 
OP: Im rx'ed desox but i have never done street meth and never exceeded a dosage of 20mg +20mg methylphenidate (which is my prescribed dosage).

How does it compare to:
1) approximate dosage of street meth
2) prescribed dosage (supposing yours is to manage adhd)

Note: When i was prescribed adderal (30mg IR/XR; i dont recall which i was on at the time) I did experience a paradoxical array of effects only on one occasion where i felt the need to consume an entire pound of orange chicken and go directly to sleep and then wake up tweaked out of my mind.
 
That small pupil thing sounds crazy, k'd out. My pupils always turn into dinner plates on any dosage of stimulants/hallucinogens. The only thing that makes mine small is opiates.
And I've heard that high doses of meth can actually make you drowsy, but I've never taken particularly high doses of any stimulants, as I'm pretty sensitive to them, so I don't need a lot.
