Why do guys think their crotch will get girls talking?

There have been a few times, that I have been on dating websites and apps, where the guy I was talking too would instantly send me a photo of their crotch, or of them jacking off, or straight out get into the topic of sex and other sexual acts. Why do guys think, that doing one of these, if not all three, will get a girl to talk to them? I always found this rude and disrespectful. What do you think of guys who do this sort of thing?

ew.
i only find it amusing or attracting if a boy i know sends me crotch pics. if i haven't seen that guy before and he sends me crotch pics i'd probably block him. especially those who think five inches equals to a telephone pole.

To be honest, I think its a thing some men like doing. I think they probably get off knowing someone is looking at them. Its not uncommon amongst certain primates to exert dominance by wiggling around an erect penis, regardless of whether the situation calls for it. We, at least us human males, are really not that much different.

I am pretty open about talking about sex and am not overly concerned if I 'offend' anyone by doing this. Obviously, I do not regale strangers with tales of my bedroom forays, but I like sex, I think about it a lot and so naturally I will talk about it with friends, male or female. A lot of females I have spoken to act a bit embarassed when discussing certain things, a lot of males seem more than willing to chat away. Its really nothing scandalous, its perfectly natural. Society has made certain conversation topics taboo and this is not one I can relate to.

But, if I was trying to go out with someone, I wouldn't start showing my dick or talking about how I like doggy style and handcuffs. That said, its been over a decade since I've dated so I really have no idea how the Modern Dating Human navigates this shit.

edit: Thought I would say that I don't think men are mentioning their crotch or showing their dick to "get girls talking". That's a delightfully naive way of putting it. Its a sex thing. Dicks are, that is. :\ :D

i think he and you are looking for different things.

Precisely. You're probably surfing the wrong websites or apps. Many apps are for straight up hookups, where people just cut the "tell me your life story" crap and get on with it.

I even get this on facebook sometimes. I don't get it. Why do SOME guys send dick pics.... it's definitely not appealing... I've never met anyone who has been like "yeah, we hooked up after he sent me a dick pic".

I think swilow hit the nail on the head here. I also think it's a dominance thing and the men who do it get off knowing a woman has seen it.

Definitely an incompatibility of interests, that's for sure.

Not to sound blase or dismissive, but I think it's a guy thing. In the gay world, where it's guy on guy, I get dick pics on a daily basis no matter what site or phone app I use. Even if my profile says "not looking for a hookup, please no nude pics", I get them. There are guys who are naturally more dominant and it's their way of asserting themselves. In bed they tend to be more forceful, more into "pig play". Some people are into it and give them positive feedback, which is why they keep doing it. If you're not into it, they just move on to the next person. I've learned to not take it personally.

To me it's kind of antisocial behaviour especially when they show me their dick before they show me their face. You'd never do that in person. But that's the internet for you.

Because it is rude and disrespectful. Obviously those guys have some kind of mental problems to even think sending dick pics right away is going to increase their chances of getting laid. You should ignore, block and never give them a chance to respond. I sent a pic of my cock to a girl a started talking to only because she asked for it. Big difference.

george micheal? wham! pretty sure you'd see his dick before he spoke. chats at the urinal dont often happen

Either because they get off on it or more so because they think women think like men do. Probably a mixture of A and B. Men and women think differently and neither understand this. Of course there are exceptions to this so please don't tell me your anecdotal evidence proving otherwise.

Men get turned on seeing women's bodies so they think sending pics of their bodies will turn women on. Women get turned on by sharing, thinking, talking: expressing emotions and feelings. Not that women don't like staring and appreciating good looking men, but that's not their prime motivation and they don't like getting unsolicited pics. It is very difficult for a man (especially young ones) to understand this.

That screams desperation to me.. They are probably so socially awkward in person that they don't know how to interact with females on a normal level so they show off the only asset they think they have or they are just completely narcissistic..
