Stimulants Who else has noticed that the amino acid phenylalanine is oxidized amphetamine?

There must be someway to produce amphetamine from phenylalanine through reduction. Maybe using LiAlH4, NaBH4, H3PO4, or maybe H2 + Pd/C but it's probably not strong enough. Probably only LiAlH4 would work. I've heard of electrolysis being used to produce amphetamine from phenylalanine, but never with a reducing reagent.
 
Hey man while I love a good chemistry discussion, this pushes too far into the realm of “synthesis talk.” Unfortunately this isn’t a topic we can talk of here as it’s against the rules.
