I currently am prescribed metoprolol succinate extended-release because I couldn't sleep well because I noticed my heart beat when withdrawing from GHB (not very fast as in tachycardia just became aware of it).
but I read on wikipedia "Due to the high penetration across the blood brain barrier, lipophilic beta blockers such as propranolol and metoprolol are more likely than other less lipophilic beta blockers to cause sleep disturbances such as insomnia and vivid dreams and nightmares".
I already suffered from insomnia as far back as I can remember, so this is not ideal. Which beta blockers are a better choice, or should I stick with metoprolol?

I also read in ADD that some beta blockers do not combine well with amphetamine, but the posts where a little hard to understand because of a lot of medical terms and English is not my native language. Which one are recommended for use with amphs, or none at all?

i've used bisoprolol and propranolol with both amphetamines and for withdrawal symptoms (from various drugs) and found bisoprolol useless, while propranolol moderately useful. hope this helps.
edit: if you can get it, clonidine is in my opinion more helpful for GHB WDs than any beta blocker.
