What's your favorite tourniquet?

After doing a quick search on Bluelight, I couldn't find a thread that addressed this specific question. Since there are some many different options out there, I was wondering what users have found to be their 'favorite' tourniquet or tie-off? The mega-IV threads all seem to agree that, optimally, once a vein was successfully hit that the tourniquet should be released before injecting the shot. This seems to be difficult when one person alone is trying to do this for themselves. So, what's your favorite and why?

In the car I always use a seatbelt, lol
at home just a belt. I have big veins tho, even after 4 years of constant abuse, I don't really need to tie off unless I'm dehydrated... I like the belt bc I just wrap it a couple times and tuck it under the same arm, so after I push I just lift my arm and it loosens itself so I don't make a mess...
I have my shit down to a science, lol when I'm with people even if I'm driving, I'm usually all finished up and rinsing my rig before anyone else is even drawing blood... Lol I guess everyone's good as something I just wish I was good at something else...

When I was thinking ahead I would purchase 1/4" surgical tubing. It tightened on itself nicely and was very good. The absolute best are the tourniquets that I "borrow" from the phlebotomy labs. They are designed for drawing blood.

Most of my veins sclerosed when I went through a speedball period back in the 70's and the 80's. IV cocaine is hell on the veins.

I used Gray's Anatomy and researched the veins in the body. One time, when I was in detox in the smoking room, I did a quick straw poll and asked the folks if they knew the difference between an artery and a vein. Around 10 people gave me wrong answers making me wonder about the crew I get associated with because I shoot drugs. Sorry to say, but most of them were idiots. No wonder that all the junkies go to jail! I went myself so I am one of them.

When I fell off the wagon in the past few years, I found veins in the bottom of my leg. That's the end of the Great Saphenous vein. I can hit it with tying off.

Am I insane or what? Welcome to the crew.

I prefer a shoestring not really sure why but for me the thinner it is the better it works

Its all about a nice leather belt. I have my lucky belt that seems to do the trick everytime, honestly ive never thought about using anything else

Do you mean the blue latex ones or the gray ones which are basically thicker with velcro on the ends?

Basic no frills latex strip tourniquet. They're effective, and easily tied on in such a way that you can have the end in your mouth, and when you're in you can pull with your mouth, releasing the entire thing and falling away.

Simple, easy, perfect.

Boot string. With a running bowline. Learn it use it works great.lr you could girth hitch a string.im into knots if you cant tell

A lot of times I'd never even bother with a tourniquet. But when I did, I'd use my belt. Which was actually a gift to me from my 1st heroin dealer, ironically.
