I swear everytime I want to have a simple chat with a few members, some moderator has to show up and whine about how "I didn't post it in the right section, so I'm gonna close it now". WHO THE HELL GIVES A FUCK??! NO HARM DONE! So I accidentally posted in the wrong section big fuckin deal, and i wouldnt even call it the wrong section since im talking about lsd in the fuckin lsd forum! do u think members really give two shits about that?! All they have to do is keep scrolling along and ignore the question if they don't catch an interest. I could understand the rules about not asking how much to take or how much to buy. But all I'm trying to do is hear out OTHER peoples experiences. No harm done there, yeah? And each time u tell me to go to erowid, I don't want to go to piece of shit erowid cuz it doesn't relate to my setting, my story, my dosage. All I want to do is chat it up with some nice people without some moderator with a stick up his/her's ass closing my thread every time. I know I'm probably not the first to complain about this and I'm sorry but its a really uptight system this place is. So I know this will probably get closed because someone with a stick deep up their ass is gonna get their feelings hurt. But just TRY and loosen up a bit, yeah??

We don't have an LSD forum, but it does seem like you were given potentially conflicting advice on where to post your thread.

The Psychedelic Drugs Forum mod suggested reading Trip Reports to answer/elaborate your question, but wasn't really suggesting you re-post your thread there as it isn't really a trip report. They also suggested using the big and dandy LSD thread, which would have been perfect for your needs.

The Trip Reports mod closed the resulting re-posted thread correctly as it wasn't appropriate for the forum.

Sorry that this has been your first experience of the site. You must understand the the board is huge and requires active moderation to keep things organised. That sometimes means that threads that are quite general or that contain commonly inquiries can be merged or closed to improve signal-to-noise ratio.

Also, just a polite request, but can you tone down the outrage a little? It's difficult to muster diplomatic flair when somebody's ranting.

It's not a big deal if you post in the wrong section. A mod will move it to the correct one.

If you have a problem with a mod action then you can report the mod post and give a reason why you disagree, and what you thing should have been done differently.

Or you can PM the mod(s) first, asking for some explanations. Most often the problem can be solved this way ;)

I meant psychedelic forum, I'm sure LSD fits into there. And yes I could understand why u would organize certain threads for example if someone posted a cannabis thread in the music section or a psychedelic thread in a support section, then I could get why u would want to mess with it. But why I post a psychedelic thread in the psychedelic forum some moderator CLOSES it, not moves it, closes it for being in the wrong place??

I'm not trying to explain my entire trip if u go to my previous threads, I'm just trying to get others peoples thoughts and see if they could relate. No harm. And after typing all that it gets shut down minutes after.

So all I'm saying is I understand the need to re-organize threads, but could u not get too specific because if members saw an LSD post in a psychedelic forum they would think its in the right place.

And the reason I post on forums and not go to erowid where it just has some long description is because I like to explain my own back-story and my own setting so it could feel like I'm getting responses on a more personal level. Understandable, yeah?

i appreciate that you're a little upset but let's not exaggerate... when you have to exaggerate to make your case, it just makes your case look weak. you've posted a whole 7 times on bluelight and 2 of your posts were moderated. that's 28.5% which might just scrape you into the top 50 in mlb batting averages i.e. not that special :)

tambourine-man explained why order is important but i will add that you've been a greenlighter for about a week. bluelight has been around for over 10 years. we've evolved to work a certain way and it works for us. it's evolved for a reason and i invite you to have some respect for the fact that it's our community and the fact that we run it as we see fit. stick around and maybe you'll begin to see why we do things the way we do. maybe you'll get involved and help make the place a better place.

that's an argument for having one huge forum where the subject matter from the 50-odd forums we have all cohabits. looking for some help with mdma dosing? just scroll past the 3000 posts about the election, buttplugs, the war in the middle east, what to cook for dinner, what to major in college and how much the patriots sucks. what your suggesting is simply impractical and a recipe for chaos.
So I know this will probably get closed because someone with a stick deep up their ass is gonna get their feelings hurt.
i don't think it will get closed.
But just TRY and loosen up a bit, yeah??
i invite you to consider taking your own advice?

welcome to bluelight.

Understandable, but you're still not acknowledging that your thread was very general. The Psychedelic Drugs forum gets lots of that, so chooses to collate them into a single, rolling thread.

In fact, most of the Focus Forums do this as standard.

Like Ali says, it's not malice or 'pissyness', it's just evolved like that due to our size.

I read over the closed threads and I don't see any wrongdoing by the mods. The thread in trip reports simply didn't follow the format of a trip report, so did not belong there. You could search through the 'Trip Reports' forum to read about peoples experiences with LSD if you wanted to use bluelight to find out how people describe their experiences.

You can click on 'advanced search' on the top right of the forum, type in 'LSD' as the keyword, make sure it is searching titles only, and then go down to 'search in forums' and select 'trip reports.' That will give you results for threads within the TR forum with LSD in the title.

As for the thread in PD asking how much LSD to ask for, the closing post included links that will answer your question, plus the other posts had answered your question already. I didn't see an issue with the thread being closed with that reply. When a thread has been sufficiently answered with accurate responses it is often best to close it to prevent it from being derailed, and to keep it from having misinformation posted in it. It's better to have a thread that is short and concise rather than long and confusing so that when another person searches for this information they will be able to find the pertinent information quickly.

Im actually leary about sending pm,s to moderators cause I had a negative experience recently.I will never give out any names, and I realize things have to be done certain ways at times....Sometimes it feels more like a hostile community rather than a friendly one...Feel like my community is bein overpoliced....But thats just my opinion and my two cents...Thanks for listening

^ can you provide examples of over-policing? we have a report system for bringing that kind of thing to the attention of the staff but you've never used it. vague accusations of over-moderation (or over-policing) don't really help and suggest, to me, there's actually a different issue at play.

more generally, asking people to respect the way we do things is not hostility, but it is occasionally mistaken for it. talking to people with brevity and in a matter-of-fact tone is not rudeness, but it is occasionally mistaken for it.

no the mods

and I mean like I do get it, it's just gotta be so tedious some times

^ It's part of the Support forum. If people can't complain here they will complain elsewhere on the site, so it's better to have it confined to this forum. Also, some complaints are valid so we have to look into all of them. A lot of times the members will help resolve some issues by validating moderator actions, so most issues end in resolution.

Oh God, I can relate to this. :p

You haven't even been infracted yet, so you should consider yourself lucky for some of the stuff you've posted. You had me on your side, man.

Hey, I asked you to explain what I was doing wrong. And I was serious.

You don't like me anymore? :(
