What's the easiest way to clean glass pieces?

I've been smoking for a long time but I really never owned a piece until fairly recently. Last year, my house had a bottle of this stuff called Purple Power which we used to clean our living room bong, and I was thinking of tracking down that stuff again since it worked pretty well.

Is there something better, or perhaps a super good homemade solution I could use/make? Also, what should I avoid so that I don't damage my glass?

Isopropyl alcohol + Salt... shake it up for a bit then rinse with hot water, it'll be like brand new

dont use normal salt use espon salt but besides that ya put it in plug all the holes and shake the shit outta it then let the alcohol evaporate and its a good as new
