Whats the difference between P and speed?

I know that one is cut the other uncut. But isnt speed amphetamine and P methamphetamine. Does that extra methly group actually make that much difference between the effects?

Are you in New Zealand?
I've never heard the term 'P' used in Australia but I'm fairly certain that in NZ the term is used to decribe stuff that isn't cut.
It doesn't have anything to do with which chem it is, as almost all of the gear in NZ and Australia is either imported clear shards of meth (often called ice) or locally produced meth through pseudoephidine reduction.

what is sold as 'P' in NZ is apparently strong Methylamphetamine (as in 'P' for 'Pure'.) (see here)

Meth imho is generally stronger and more euphoric. (based on anecdotal evidence)

I thought 'P' was 'methamphetamine" and 'Speed' was Amphetamine Sulphate!

I never was sure what the exact difference is between 'P' and 'Ice' is thought.

AFAIK: P would be the same as meth.

From the NZ Drug Foundation website:

The 2001 survey also revealed an increase in the use of ice, (a pure form of methamphetamine commonly known as 'pure' or 'burn'). Last year use of ice increased for those aged 20-24 years (from 0% to 2.2%). This was particularly reflected in the use by men aged 20-24 years old (from 0% to 2.9%), with 0.5% of respondents describing themselves as current users of pure (P).

This leads me to believe that meth, pure, ice, etc. are all the same thing - in varying degrees of purity. Two things you can be convinced of, however, are that this type of stimulant is strongly habit forming, and that continual use in high doses over an extended period can lead to psychosis.

Amphetimines (speed) and Methamphetimines (meth) are not the same thing. Amphetimines are cut down into things like base and goee (commonly refered to as speed in Australia, whilst being very low grade version of real speed). Methamphetimine can be a powder or in shards. Powder is often cut down into MethGas (meth goee) or is cut down and passed off as either base or goee. Alternatively it can be smoked, but once again in Australia and most probably New Zealand ICE is often sold as METH when it really is not the same drug (we simply seem not to get real METH in Australia/NZ like America does).

Basically everything is interchangeable in the real world unfortunately and depending who you are buying off you are most of the time being mislead.

??? I don't know where you are getting your info from but almost everything sold in OZ, whether it be called 'base' goee' 'wizz' 'speed' or whatever (these are just slang names, they don't mean anything) is genuine methamphetamine. Check police seizure records or buy an EZ test supreme, you'll be able to confirm this yourself. The reason it is almost all meth is because a) meth is more sought after and B) easier to make (Pfed reduction)
