im planning on giving the enlighten website an overhaul with a complete redevelopment within the next few weeks as it is an important medium we can use to promote harm reduction and further our cause and profile. my question is what would you like to see on the site as far as information, features, sections etc goes? im hoping the broader bluelight community can provide a base from where we can develop the ideas into a finished product. im not a backend guru so apologies if some ideas do not get implemented initially.

mmm...Enlighten's pages have always been very comprehensive HM advice IMO, but I wonder if the following suggestions might be considered either too technical or irrelevant to the site's current objectives?

  1. A "where you stand" page covering the laws of each state in regards to testing, mentioning any related legal precedents or lack of.
  2. A page which discusses in detail the various approaches to different forms of lab testing, outlining limitations, advantages etc of each method, as well as brief description of sample preparation for each technique
  3. Perhaps a comprehensive picture page outlining the use of TLC. It's fiddly I know, but for someone serious, it's not too bad an operation. It's also a great exercise in understanding the principles of chromatography.
  4. In response to masthead testing's suggestion of lab test results; perhaps in working towards providing that service, how about a donation page where money or equipment could be given for the purpose of purchasing/building some lab testing equipment. You could icon link it from the front page, with total donations or $'s still required for purchasing an item displayed on the icon
    [/list=1]

On the last point, I could be speaking rather naively here, but I guess I see the principle arguments from Forensics/ Health to be currently focused on the inaccuracy of kits. Just what the focus could shift to if lab testing is employed is something else altogether. Maybe it's too bold a step to take just yet :\

Well this is were I'm putting most of my energy; talking about the limitations of kits and using that as a push for lab testing. What we need is a combined approach of user tests and lab tests. It's bold, but when ever I'm talking to these people wasking the question "What can we do?" this is what I offer...

I'm not to sure what the site normally looks like when it's up and running, but perhaps things like:

* Information on next event that you guys will attend.

* A list of the pills tested, and reactions, from each event.

* Maybe turn the drug documentation into a link form so people don't have to download the file.

Thats all i can think of for now, I'm sure the site normally contains these though.
You guys do a great job, keep up the good work.

:)

^^ it doesnt usually look like much, thats why we are rebuilding it. so any suggestions are apprectiated :)

Event attendance info would be great.

known test results from these events is a great idea too

maybe a simple online store to buy reagents and other HR stuff

looking foward to seeing the site

a chart of colour pic's representing typical OTC pill test results, on varying substanaces, would be great. i know a comprehensive list is impossible but something would be, at least, imformative.

keep up the good work.......:)

i too want to see jb and mac in the kmart poses. we were really looking for something to put on the main page, too.... :D
