I bought 50 from http://www.androusa.com/ and was very happy.

I saved all the used ones, I only use them once

I buy and will buy 100 next time the 1cc X 29g X 1/2

I feel bad throwing them out, and for security reasons as a lot of mail and emtpy fentanyl boxes and rx bottles go out with the trash. All with my name on the labels

Is there a good way of getting rid of them aside from throwing them out in a public trash can? You can not get them without an RX, though the site i mentioned which someone told me about in a old thread of mine on where to get them ships them from and to NJ, so I got them the next day.

I love to recycle and i think syringes are one of the worse things you can throw out.

Could i drop them off at a recycling center?

dispose at the local needle exchange, or maybe hospital

but what if there isn't a local needle exchange? is it really appropriate to drop off recreationally used needles at a hospital?

i just dont want anyone (myself included) into trouble. personally, we dont have a needle exchange here. ive read up about any in the state of ohio, and the closest is cleveland. i cant drive from cols to cleve every time i need to throw away some rigs. especially making the drive with 50 dirty rigs in the car, heh. would the hospital be a safe option? i'm big on recycling too.

do you have a methadone clinic near you, you could try talking to them, i live in cleveland and you have to get a card to retrn needles and you have to live in cleveland, people from out of county can't just return rigs, unless they changed in the last couple of years. I haven't shot dope in three years so who knows.

You can ask a doctor/hospital if they will dispose of them for you after being put into a proper container, that’s probably your best bet if not a needle exchange.

If you are going to throw them away though, make sure they are in a sealed bottle not likely to break open and label it beforehand.

I was gonna add-- if you're throwing them in the trash make sure the needle cap is on, and they're in a plastic bottle with the lid on tight!

Any medical facility (lab/hospital/doctors office) can handle this for you. If you get a sharps container online I imagine you could bring the stuff to a lab and maybe ask to dispose of it there. Maybe feigning being some sortof medical worker would help.

Ya, do what diabetics do. Get a sharps container and when it is completely filled dispose of it at a hospital.

That's what I was going to say to do. I'm an R.N. at a hospital and plenty of Diabetics in my area bring there sharps containers to the hospital and we dispose of them in the proper bio-hazard containers we are supposed to. I don;t even think twice about questioning anybody if they are "really diabetic" etc. when they want to turn in syringes for proper disposal. Honestly I'm usually super happy that they are doing the right thing and trying to properly dispose of syringes how they are meant to be properly disposed of. It's a very valiant thing to do when you think about the possibilities of someone else accidently getting stuck with a syringe.

Used syringes can't be recycled LOL :)

No, they shouldn't get you in trouble for dropping off recreationally used needles at a hospital. Having them safely disposed of is a very responsible thing to do IMHO. If you were to drop them off there and if someone were to question you about how they were used - just lie and say "they were used by my diabetic mother".

Too bad Cleveland doesn't have a needle exchange, because there, they want you to return your used rigs for proper disposal in exchange for new ones. I now have a plastic bag full of used rigs that I'm going to bring back to the needle exchange in my city soon. Before going there, I used to make *sure* that the cap in on tightly and put the rigs in an empty soda can or wrap them up in paper.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but used syringes are "hazardous waste" and are melted down to kill any remaining bacteria.

It goes by state law.

In VA, all you have to do is label "HOME SHARPS" or something utterly retarded like that, and simply throw in the trash.

I suggest you hold onto your rigs so you can take them to a SEP and get clean ones for free.

I'll see if I can look up the state-by-state syringe disposal laws again...

^ Thanks for posting that, Captain.Heroin. Hopefully those links will help the O.P. on what to do with those used needles.

I strongly believe that *EVERY* state should have a needle exchange program - reguardless if syringes are sold OTC or not. It's a helpful thing for a community to have a place for rec users to go to that gives out clean & safe supplies, because not every rec user is going to want to drop off their rigs at a hospital.

Besides, they give you free needles - it sure beats having to buy them online!

Yeah, my state doesn't have any SEP's. I hate living here. I cannot wait to move.

You're welcome.

In my state, it's incredibly easy to write "HOME SHARPS" on a box and throw them away...it's kind of not the greatest idea when I think of it...but oh well, right? hahahha.

Virginia: Virginia has no published guidance for individuals on safe disposal of syringes used at home.
The state of Virginia would like to believe that no one is IVing drugs at all, and that no one would buy syringes unless they were a diabetic.

Fuck this state.

I recommend putting them in a laundry detergent bottle, or at the very least an empty milk carton. If its just a few of them, put them in empty beer/coke cans and crush the can

wow, thats pretty fucked up:| i'd hate to be one of the garbage sorters at recycling plants and those types of places sorting through rubbish and coming across packages like that. that sends a shiver down my spine.

agreed.

if you dont have an exchange in your area you could alternatively put the sharps in a sealed container, something like a coke bottle or whatever but preferably the disposal bin from the kits, and take them to a hospital which has a biohazard bin for safe storage. a lot of hospitals in my state (queensland, australia) have these bins set up outside hospital buildings or you can hand them into the ATODS centres.

I think it's a shame that VA doesn't have a needle exchange program.

People are going to use drugs reguardless if it's legal or not - but at least they deserve a place were they can recieve clean rigs, because sharing needles or re-using old ones can spread diease and the State should be avoiding this problem and trying to it's residents healthy!

Hey, Captain.Heroin - I just send you a PM.
