Hi,

I'm visiting Denver for a wedding in July, and I've never been there before. I'll be there for at least an extra day or two beyond just the day of the wedding. What's fun to do in Denver? Does it have any good bars/clubs? I don't know exactly where I am staying, but I think the hotel is pretty central. I really know pretty much nothing about Denver.

On hour from Denver you have Winter Park. Only if your are into skiing/snowboarding or willing to try it. It's amazing, no words to describe it. It was one of my best vacations ever.

Looking at the May 14 webcam, there is still snow on the lifts. It's so freeing and exhilarating. You'll feel so good by going up that mountain.

Right near there, they have cheap places to stay(beaver lodge, lol, i know). With 5 people for 4 nights it came out to $20 per person per night, had 1 full bathroom and 1 extra smaller bathroom in one of the bedrooms, full kitchen, 3 full beds with one in the living rooms, jacuzzi, swimming pool, free movie rentals, close to a small city so you can eat great and go to bars at night

Otherwise, Denver was just like any other big city to me, since Im from Chicago already, it wasn't that interesting time

The drive to Winter Park had some amazing views.

It is worm there now, so skiing should be just heaven, I can't wait till I got snowboarding again. It's like the best human invention.

Also, even closer than Winter Park, on the way to Winter Park, they have hot springs, I never had the chance to visit since I was with others, bit it seems cool.

Whatever floats your boat thou.

I highly recommend spending maybe an hour or two in actual Denver and checking out what Colorado has to offer. It's an amazing state. I will definitely visit there many times again. I loved it.

^ unfortunately we won't be able to get outside of denver, as I beleive we won't rent a car. What is there to do actually in denver?

^ thanks for the links!

I know "blingfaced" is from denver and I saw them at burningman, hopefully they'll be playing at a club when we are there.

Market Street and Lo Do (Lower Downtown) in general have pretty cool bars, Beta is a pretty good club and it's really centrally located on 20th and Blake. Depending on the days you're going to be here, there are always concerts, comedy shows, plays, etc....

Our art museum is newly remodeled and is hosting a psychedelic exhibit until some time in July that's worth a look.

I know you said that you probably won't be able to get out of the city, but Red Rocks needs to be on any Colorado visitor's to do list, whether it's for a show or just to go look around.

I've hear Denver is one of the few places in the US where you can still find acid. So get your fill while you can.

^^^

I'd say EVERY major city in the US you can find acid!

And to whoever said winter park, they aren't open in July, if want to ski in july you're gonna have to be hiking and be in the backcountry.

Check out Owsley's or Dulcineas. Two cool clubs owned by the same guys.

(Somewhat Grateful Dead oriented bars just FYI)

Peace
Have fun its a cool city.

Edit: oh yea PHISH AT RED ROCKS JULY 30-August 2

^^ Owsley's and Dulcinea's are awesome, Jay also owns Quixotes and Cervantes which are bigger, and bring through bigger acts. The patio at Owsley's is a great place to relax with some drinks and catch some good live music though.

EA - you're right, there is TONS of acid in CO. Sometimes I can find dose faster than I can find bud.

depending on what dates youll be here, July 18 is an electric music festival at the legendary red rocks amphitheater called Global. if youre trying to go to that you should buy a ticket right now because it will sell out this week. deff an epic night. headliners are Sasha v. Digweed, Benny Bennassi, Markus Schulz, and many many more....
