Yep, I am THIS stupid. Just bought—what I THOUGHT was black tar—off a stranger in SF....as I've never seen nor shot heroin before (though have a high tolerance due to Rx drugs) I didn't even doubt it until I prepped and shot it...aaaand...Nothing!

Prepped another shot. When that one did nothing the panic set in. Had I just iv'd hash!?!

Is it just that my tolerance is through the roof? Do i need to call poison control????

It was HARD (meaning I chipped it off with scissors to dose), dark brown/black, DIDN'T smell like hash or marijuana, started to dissolve in room temp. water then dissolved rapidly when boiled. Slightly sticky on the outside, but when handed over to me was literally palmed into my pocket with No balloon, wrapper or the like.

Please feel free to expand on how retarded I am for copping off the street/stranger without adequate experience.

P.s. pupils/eyes aren't pinned, were actually huge right afterwards, and drenched in sweat (tho, all above may be due to withdrawal and panic at the this-isn't-heroin-thoughts).

if it didn't smell like cannabis and dissolved in water it's definitely _not_ hash. who knows what you got from street copping. might be completely inactive for all we know. all the dope i see is east coast powder but i understand black tar to mostly be crap, if you have a huge pharmaceutical opiate tolerance maybe the tar is too weak. but saying "do more" isn't necessarily harm reduction advice. if it isn't doing anything for you, i'd stop trying to IV it and toss it out.

Any, West Coasters familiar with tar have any input?

I'd normally IV about 60 mgs of morphine to catch slight buzz and "feel well" for 4-5 hours...
 
I know we are not allowed to name areas where you buy drugs but I can hypothesize where you purchased it,, that area of SF is notorious for selling fake drugs unless you are buying crack or weed.

I don't know anything about the SF heroin scene tho so who knows. Unless you send it into a lab or get a field test, you will never know. Everything is endless speculation.

I'd toss it and avoid buying shit from crackheads and bums in the future.
