Hey guys,

I am just racking my brain to remember the name of the condition that makes you have permanent or semi-permanent visual disturbances after prolonged psychedelic use?

Thanks in advance
Peace
Jack:)

Thanks dude, that had been bugging me for ages.... get it.... bugging..... ... all over my skin.... eww

Yeah, HPPD is weird. I used to have HPPD very strongly, but I feel my condition has moved more towards being a dissociative disorder, which I'm not a fan of because it impairs the shit out of me.

So yeah, the other, often unmentioned ones are dissociative disorders, which doesn't make you hallucinate in the same way as HPPD. The specific dissassociative disorder that generally effects drug users (guess which kind of drug) is depersonalization disorder- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depersonalization_disorder
Here's the article on general dissociative disorders. Depersonalization disorder is the primary one triggered by drugs, but mental illness is an interesting subject and these are some weird disorders- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dissociative_disorder

Keep in mind that HPPD is just a convenient name to describe somewhat commonly experienced phenomena. Psychedelics catalyze lots of interesting changes in the brain, some being quite long-lasting.

Don't get too caught up in labeling yourself as "HPPD." Its only pathological if its demonstrably effecting your ability to live a fulfilling life. If you're doing fine in life save for the perceptual disturbances, no need to worry about it IMO. :)
