What is the chemical composition of the tester kits?

Marquis Reagent is Sulphuric Acid and Formaldehyde..
WARNING:
1. You most likely will not be able to purchase the chemicals yourself, because (at least here in the UK) Sulphuric Acid has some restrictions on purchase as it is a drug processing precursor (opiates etc...)
2. Manufacture of marquis reagent is not for the inexperienced chemist.
just playing "devil's advocate"

I bet i would be able to get them because i can ask my old chem 2 teacher to get them. Do you know what ratio to add to make the marquis reagant?

Yes.. but in light of the fact that several people on BL are manufacturers and distributors of Marquis tests, I will leave it to aj to decide.. If I'm told its ok, I'll post it, otherwise just do a search.. you'll find the ratio

Making test kits is cool but it is not something you do in an afternoon.
You need all sorts of stuff and it is rather dangerous.
My opinion; the more kits the better but do not underestimate what is involved.
