I live in Ireland and I'm looking for a laptop with good specs. I'm willing to order it from the UK so long as shipping isn't expensive. Is Lenovo a good brand?

Lenovo is not bad. I like Toshiba and HP, but I do not travel with a laptop and use it instead of a desktop and because it takes up less space.

Yeah, lenovo is good. Get a thinkpad. Swing the best model you can get. Watch their prices since they run sales and stuff all the time.

what are you coding?

no matter, unless you're using some very heavyweight ide, a laptop with 8gb should be plenty. in terms of disk space, it depends on how you work - you can always offload stuff you're not actively working on to a cloud service or an external hd so the acer shay recommended looks just fine. i'm a fan of lenovo and their ideapad 5 looks pretty nice. the dell inspiron 15 also looks pretty nice.

Do you have a specific budget in mind?

Will you use it for games, videos, music or just basic tasks in addition to programming?
