Ropinirole. The information online seems to be scarce (or I am just incapable of browsing effectively.) Either way, my girlfriend got prescribed to this medication for Restless Leg Syndrome. She is also prescribed to hydrocodone for chronic back pain. But we are very familiar with opiates and the effects of them.
My question is, what on earth is Ropinirole? We are not asking if we can get high from the medicine, but should she expect similar effects from the Ropinirole as she does with her hydrocodone, or even opiates in general? Or are there any similar qualities between the two?
Familiar with pretty much all kinds of narcotics, so feel free to use any kind of comparisons. Honestly, I've just never heard of this stuff before.
Thanks,

ropinirole is a synthetic dopamine receptor agonist drug. it binds to and activates certain types of dopamine receptors. because dopamine is a major neurotransmitter in the parts of the brain that coordinate movement, altered functioning can help alleviate restlessness.

it's non narcotic and not "recreational". but sometimes people get weirdly compulsive on dopamine agonists. or nauseous. or just straight up feeling weird. (dopamine receptors also regulate e.g. hormomone and prolactin release).

Awesome, Thank You so much. That's very helpful.
^^^ This is interesting, though. So do people combine this drug with opiates or benzos to potentiate or even act as a nice combo? I wonder what causes this compulsiveness or strange feeling. Never taken a "synthetic dopamine receptor agonist drug".

EDIT: This question may be misplaced. Feel free to direct me elsewhere if so.

I have been on ropinirole and in my experience, other than a bit of drowsiness I never really experienced any unintended effects. Definitely no recreational value but great for tics and RLS as well as tremors.
