I’m having a hard time finding it and just interested in comparing it with 7-OH which is 43. I didn’t think it had a cieling. Unless I’m understanding the information wrong. I was almost sure there wasn’t a ceiling on 7-OH. I feel like I’m missing something. Someone please educate me about this?

They both definetly have a ceiling effect, 7oh I believe to be around 60mg and bupe is like 24-36mg. Pretty much all partial agonist will have a ceiling effect

Yeah, bupe definitely has a max to its effects. Especially if you have a tolerance or take it regularly. Someone who is naive to opioids or has never taken bupe can get obliterated and sick from a very small amount, like 1-2mg. But if you have a high opioid tolerance and take bupe regularly, taking more than maybe 12-24mg won't really be as effective comparably, probably just an increase in the negative side effects.

That level is of course different for everyone, and my answer isn't particularly scientific, just from my experience with it. I took it for a long time, I never took more than 16mg a day, didn't seem like much reason to.

Lower doses of bupe say 1-2mg are said to metabolize into the more potent metabolite norbupe but idk if that's actually true that's just what I hear. In some cases of drugs, especially partial agonists less is more

Afaik Buprenorpine when used as painkiller a dose is 0.2/ 0.4 oro-mucaal.
For lighter pain over here they only have the patches, like Fentanyl s.
Oro-mucaal 0.4/ 0.8 equals a patch of 3 days 35 mcg/ hour.

For cancer offlabel use: 0.2/ 0.4 Buprenorphine 3/ 4 x a day, oro-mucaal.
From the Farmaco Bible of NL. so 0.4 is a hefty dose opioid naive & in severe pain.

Interesting, yeah that would make sense. I remember the first time I took it, even while not being completely opioid naive, I got sick AF. I've seen it happen to multiple people where they got sick af from taking a small amount. I'm like, "sorry but I told you so" lol

Ya I've seen sub wipe people tf out off of a crumb. I miss the days subs use to fuck me up. It's a pretty decent buzz when you're naieve.

Thanks all. I’m just not sure that 7-OH has a ceiling. I get mixed answers. Some say yes some say no. Maybe that’s because it converts to psuedendoxil?

Edit: I just took 160mg 7-OH sublingual. Hope I didn’t waste it

All Mu opioid partial agonists have a ceiling effect because of their intrinsic activity at the mu opioid receptor. Unlike full agonists, which can fully activate the receptor to produce a maximal response, partial agonists have lower efficacy, meaning they only partially activate the receptor, even when all receptors are occupied.

Whether or not this is relevant in the case of recreational 7-OH use is a different story, but yes, all Mu partial agonists have a ceiling effect.

That actually makes sense when phrased that way. I didn’t think about them nothing being partials. Idk. I guess because I get confused with is it psuedendoxil because 7-OH converts to that in the blood
Or is it 7-Oh givjng me the effects.

My guess is both.
I’m sure not all of it gets converted. Then again I could be way off here.

Haha, i think we all have a "Dude, dont take more than 1mg, im telling you its gonna fuck you up" story.

I was 16 or so when i was already a full blown heroin addict, and my friends from school used to see me buy bupe from this old dude in exchange for rides and help, and they thought that they could dose in the same manner i could. I started them off with like half a mg, and they fell into the "This isnt doing anything" fallacy and took more despite my warning. They got so rocked that i had to spend half the night like dragging one of them 10 feet, turning around, grabbing the other, dragging them 10 feet, and so on until i got them back to one of their houses. By the time we got there they had started to sober up a bit, and were fucking around a little bit so i let them be. I passed out in a recliner, and woke up to the girl yelling "I fucking hate you, why did i let you talk me into this, fuck you" etc. So i get up, follow the voices and find them in the bathroom. Theyre in the shower, he's fucking her from behind while simultaneously vomiting all over her back, while shes vomiting all over the wall of the shower.

So i slowly just shut the door, put my shoes on, locked the door and walked the few miles down to a little dinner we had and ate breakfast. We never spoke about it.
