What happened to NYC open air market?

i dont understand how it shifted from open air to meet and greet. there are still plenty of open air markets in other cites, so what up with NYC?

Find a hobo or some party kids chilling out in the park, offer a free bag if they hook you up with someone who has what you want....Just remember to take the dudes number down who is holding so you don't have to cough up a freebie for a heads up
