What do you think could be wrong?

Or is something even wrong at all? Despite the fact that I tend to be a hypochondriac.

Let me start off by saying that I'm 5'3, 120ish pounds. By no means massively overweight. I think I have diabetes though... I match all the fucking signs and it's really freaking me out!

From http://www.diabetes.org/diabetes-basics/symptoms/ :

Type 1 Diabetes
* Frequent urination
(every hour or two while at home...not as though I can't hold it longer)
* Unusual thirst (120+ ounces yesterday. Today ~100oz from 2-11p, ~80oz 12-6a, ~20oz 6-8a)
* Extreme hunger (I'm always hungry... Well, not always, but I'm hungry every two to three hours... But I eat frequent small meals... 200 calories here, 200 there... I typically don't sit down and eat huge meals at once)
* Unusual weight loss (Nope. Lost the 45 pounds I needed to nearly two years ago.)
* Extreme fatigue and Irritability (Had that up to a week ago... Was working a job where I really couldn't get any rest [night shift, day shift, night shift, day shift] and was pretty stressed out about the drug test I had to take to get the job I just started... Which has made the fatigue and irritability go away for the most part. I say for the most part, 'cause I also just quit smoking--Someone suggested to me that maybe smoking was masking my thirst like it tends to mask hunger?)

Type 2 Diabetes*

* Any of the type 1 symptoms
(see above)
* Frequent infections (Nothing frequent, but I did have a bout with scurvy a month or so ago... Unsure if it was actually scurvy or not but I matched all the symptoms and my rash looked like some of the images I saw online... I couldn't go to the dr as I didn't have health insurance to cover it... Same with this issue, which is why I'm posting here...)
* Blurred vision (Sometimes when I'm tired my vision gets blurry, but it's nothing too drastic...)
* Cuts/bruises that are slow to heal (Yeah, but I've always had this problem...)
* Tingling/numbness in the hands/feet (This is the scary one--This symptom has developed within the past few months, and without reading it on this symptoms list, I noticed it...It's not a constant tingling/numbness, but sometimes when I stand up or sit down quickly, my hands will tingle for a second...)
* Recurring skin, gum, or bladder infections (I've always been prone to UTIs but haven't had one in awhile... Knock on wood.)

Blah, I don't know wtf could be wrong. I mean, it sure doesn't seem normal to drink 200oz of water in a day. What do you think? I mean, I'm not exercising a lot... All I did today was take my dog for a 30 minute walk and work for six hours (janitorial work basically...nothing too labor intensive, though I am on my feet constantly moving)... I didn't eat much salty food... I had about two cups of a homemade broccoli salad (broc., raisins, sunflower seeds, "mayo," and apple cider vinegar), a bagel with "butter," peanut butter sandwich, two mandarins, 1 1/2 cups (dry measurement) of plain old fashioned oatmeal with 1/4 cup raisins and some (maybe a tablespoon?) brown sugar...

I'm sorry this was so long. I appreciate you reading/skimming it all. If you could help me out that would be great. In the mean time, I think it's bed time for me...

Doesn't sound like diabetes to me. I'm sure there are tests you can take to find out for sure though.

I'm sure there are tests to find out, and going to the doctor would help, but I don't have good health insurance at the moment. The health insurance I have just covers emergencies, basically. My new health insurance doesn't kick in for a month or more...

200oz just seems like a horribly excessive amount to drink... Esp. for someone my weight. I've always heard you should drink half your body weight in ounces. So, that'd be 60 ounces for me.

A gallon a day is a good goal. You're at about a gallon and a half. It is unusual in the sense that most people don't willingly drink that much water a day without doing so on purpose (aiming to).

You're urinating frequently because you're drinking a lot of water.

Eating numerous small meals will ramp your metabolism up. You will indeed notice yourself getting hungrier this way. Its actually a good thing so long as you're eating healthy. Make sure you're getting enough fiber, this will give you the feeling of being full longer.

There's not really anyway anyone could tell you whether you're diabetic or not unfortunately. Best bet is to keep an eye on it and see a doc when you can.

I drink about that much a day, a few years ago when I was eating like a motherfucker trying to get bigger I was known to drink up to 12 litres in a day. The increase in eating neccessitates an increase in water consumption. No diabetes so far, heh.

Wow. You just made me feel a million times better. Everything I had been reading was saying that the recommended daily amount is ~64oz, and said nothing about excessive amounts as far as numbers went, but just said that excessive amounts weren't good. A gallon and a half still seems like a lot for someone my height/weight, but apparently it's not as off the wall as I thought!

Also, since this increase in thirst is relatively new, anybody think it could have something to do with cigarettes masking my thirst? A friend suggested it.

I was also thinking about something... A few weeks ago I quit adding salt to my food, and I quit cooking with it. Could this lack of excess salt be making my body not hang on to water so much, therefore the water needs to be replaced more often?
