just had a piece of chocolate brownie cheescake, far to sweet and rich; and now i feel sick :(

Hey, I've got a chocolate Cheese cake in my fridge just now.

Not up for eating it tonight though. But I did have a wee taster. Twas nice.

tbh i love cheescake, but usually just the plain vanilla or sultana classic baked one, im sure you no what type i mean....

today i got this urge for chocolate but it was very rich, i really do not have a sweet tooth.

kind of regret it now :(

I'm the same. Not much of a sweet tooth. Which is kind of a shame but a good thing too as I'm an excellent baker. If I ate all the goodies I baked I'd be fecking HUGE!

Usually I'll only have a small taster to make sure it's turned out just right. Then just let everyone else tuck in.

EDIT: OOOh I love smoked fish. The man makes a mean Kedgeree. YUMMY! I like those Arbroath Smokies. NOICE!

Very rich, creamy thick cullen skink and a bowl of house salad...was damn lush :)

That's twice this week I've had cullen skink out, am rather obsessed with it at the moment and psyching myself up to create my own homemade version.

you been eating tinned cullen sink? Baxters do it but its mingin'

i ve never made it but it is on the to-do list. (the one that never gets done)

Na not tinned, from a restaurant. Didn't know Baxters did it, can imagine that's rank :|

Basically it's smoked haddock n' tattie soup. The 1st lot I had had prawns and lightly cooked cabbage n' spring onion in it, the greens where nice but the shellfish all wrong. The stuff I had tonight was cream heavy with loads of parsley, very nice though rich :)

I'd make it like the 2nd lot and add something like shredded kale just before serving. It's on my to do list too!

Cheesecake is one of my least favourite puds, my hubby loves it. It's usually safe to have in the fridge unless the attack of the munchies is so bad...8)

Just had 2 satsumas.

How very mysterious as it has you logged ala mod as doing such...bloody server problems eh :\

Productive - good night?

Food is also off my agenda for now this evening now, calories via alcohol enough to cause a fit 8o never mind the dark chocolate fantasying :| fulfilling enough in its own kinda weird self...

Nutritional goodness will be required tomorrow like... thinking roast butternut squash soup and a sidedose of greens thown into the equation for tomorrow with extra B complex vit supplements added :)

<3 for you

i'm such a rad mod i don't even need to be at a computer to change shit around.

Night was good ta.
And to keep on topic, currently eating nowt!

just gettin a bacon egg and black ppudding sandwich on the go.

already had me canna gingernut, me son woke up at 6 this mornin :( , always the way on my day off

Mmm... such Goodies you fine folks been a-munching. Cheesecake? Cullen Skink? Hell yeah. Maybe not in the same bowl though. Kedgeree is also a big favourite of mine. Never come across an Arbroath Smoky but definitely on my To Munch list :)

Coincidentally, I had a brace of salmon fishcake sarnies last night. Were yum. But not as good as homemade. Lunch just now consisted of a Thai-style instanoodle concoction that isn't a Pot Noodle. Think it's called Mug Shot. Was surprisingly tasty but prefer the macaroni cheese one cos it has macaroni and cheese (powder) in. Yum <3

I'm going to make peanut and jelly (jam really, but it just doesn't sound right) bars I think.

One of the true treasures of US cuisine is peanut butter and jam (it's not jelly even if it does sound odd :p). I like it as a toasty sandwich best. Has to be crunchy peanut butter, of course. Undecided on which jam is ideal but plain ol' strawberry or maybe raspberry would be the front-runners.

Bars sound good, Wibz. Having trouble picturing what that would encompass though - choccy bars with peanut butter and jam in amongst 'em or something far more clever that eludes me? Recipe? Pics 'pon completion? Free sample in the post? =D

peanut butter cookie layer, jam layer, crumbled cookie mixture and peanuts all baked and then quite into squares when it's cooled. An american baking thing I think.

Reece's Faeces = ick. Way too sicklysaltynasty for me - especially the cup ones *retches*. Those baked thingies Wibz has planned sound lush though :)

Just got back from the shop with yet more cheap pork. Must've been a big pig harvest this year. It's not chops this time - pre-sliced... pork that's probably meant for stir-fry. £1.50 for a 400g pack - should've bought a couple extra for the freezer really.

Pork question: Will be used to make either a curry again or a biryani. Both are but humble jar sauces so both are equally quick 'n' easy. Perhaps. It seems a bit much to cook up all the biryani stuff then bake it for the last 25 minutes like wot you're supposed to do cos it takes ages to get the oven up to temperature which costs a lotta cash for the sake of just finishing the cooking. Seems to me that you could do a perfectly decent variation by simply continuing to cook it on the stove top. Is there any reason that would be a stooopid idea? "Recipe" is simply to seal the pork, add sauce, simmer for a while then add the rice and bake it. Surely simmering it till the rice is done would pretty much do the same thing only maybe end up a bit moister? Kinda like an Indian paella style o' thing I'm thinking.
