For some context:
I've smoked weed around 30 times. And, in a decent portion of those experiences, I've hallucinated intensely. Before you (reasonably) call me a dumbass for not stopping after the first time, in my defense, I thought it was entirely normal until recently. I also don't mind these hallucinations at all, and instead find them completely fascinating.
An example: The first time I experienced this was after only a few puffs of a joint. In an instant, my entire vision went black, similar to when you stand up too quickly. Following this, I heard a loud "PANG!" noise, over and over again, shooting a jolt of force up my spine each time. The closest replication I've seen to this part of the experience was one of 5-meo-dmt. After a few moments of this noise repeating, I could start to make out objects in front of me, although they were extremely low-resolution, and consisted of only yellow and black. From that point on, I had my usual experience for around two hours:
- Extreme discoloration, everything's yellowish green.
- All my movements become extremely automatic and cyclical. Like, whenever I stop paying attention, my limbs start to move in circles, and my jaw moves back and forth. My walk becomes goofy and robotic.
- I see tunnels, triangular patterns, and rotating structures overlaying everything.
- I'm often unable to compare the relative angle of two lines. Just like in bi-stable optical illusions, I can invert the depth of objects. Sometimes the corners of walls pop out towards me.
- Many of my thoughts become nonsensical. I still have meta-level awareness, but if I stop paying attention, I'll start speaking/writing gibberish. (as in, actual meaningless strings of syllables).
- Time moves in frames. I can roughly control the framerate: the more I focus, the smoother it moves. Otherwise, it'll advance in ~1 second intervals.
- Triangular waves bounce around my body. My eyes automatically saccade in highly symmetrical geometric patterns.
- My peripheral vision expands, and determining the relative sizes of objects is difficult.
- Trees and other textures will repeat, tiling my visual field.
- Aside from a fear that I might be getting brain damage from the intense drum-like pulsing, I'm never that scared. It's not exactly pleasurable, but I'm usually too wrapped up in the excitement of attempting to understand the effects to care. Often I'll scramble to write down notes and come up with experiments.
After this, faint effects can last up to 32 hours, usually in the form of zig-zagging ripple-like distortions in my vision. This kind of experience has happened with weed from all sorts of different sources, so it's not like I'm accidentally talking salvia. Also, I should note that I've never done any psychedelics before.
I've spent probably a dozen hours searching for people who react similarly to almost no avail. There's only one person I've found who has a comparable experience on weed, an IRL friend. In fact, his hallucinations are almost exactly the same as mine. But, a bit worryingly, he also happens to be schizotypal. This, of course, this doesn't bode well for me not being a schizo myself. But interestingly, I've never noticed an actual delusion in these states. On the contrary, I remain extremely analytical about my own thought process, and entirely aware that my perception is simply extremely distorted. Making things even more confusing, I have another schizotypal friend who doesn't get this experience at all.
So, I'd really apprecate hearing any descriptions of the hallucinations you get on weed, so that I might hopefully find another datapoint to compare myself against.
