everytime i get down near the end of my bowl my pipe starts hitting better and it stays lit and it also doesnt smell or taste to great.

if the taste changes for the worse, you're probably smoking a little bit of built-up pipe resin.

if the taste doesn't change at all then it's just your cherry about to finish burning.

if it tastes and smells like shit,its probably resin. Just smoke it, itll get you very high .

tastes like ass.
the thc has been vaporized at the point when it turns black.
After that you are just getting high from smoke inhalation/oxygen deprivation.
your pipe could be very dirty and the resin lights up and starts to cherry in the pipe leading to great resin hits.

sometimes when my bong blocks, i have to toke an empty bowl, just fire to move whatevers clogging it. And the amount of smoke it makes is silly, i never smoke it though cause it's fucking horrible. Just fill the chamber, blow through hithole..repeat.

I clean my bowl after every smoking so each time I smoke I have nothing from my last smoke.

^ me too. While the bowl is still hot just wipe it with a tissue or napkin. Every 2 week I soak my daily use spoon in isopropyl alcohol too. The alcohol makes it just like new, for glass of course.
