What about the apple pipe

I tried the search engine, but didn't find anything helpful,

so guys what are your opinions on the homemade apple pipes. Right now I can't allow myself to buy a pipe, bong (not cuz of the money) and it seems a pretty good way for me to smoke from an apple.

My only concern is the tin foil I use. There is no way I can put my weed on top without a foil, because it will fall down and it would be impossible for me to smoke it. Has it be proven that smoking from the foil causes damage?

As a hookah user I know that you can't smoke a hookah without there being a foil on which you put the burning coal. So it shouldn't be that dangerous. Dunno.

Thoughts?
 
i wouldnt use foil. take out stem, poke a wire clohtes hanger in, and then curve to side of apple and poke out through the apple and wiggle it around a bit. the hole should be small enough to breath through but not big enough for weed to fall in.
 
I've used a 3/8 (or 12 14mm) socket as a bowl on top of the apple -- just make sure not to use the cheep ones that flake off silver paint.
 
due to insufficient weed i can't quite figure it out how to make a proper socket for smoking. I make only a couple of a hits and I'm high, which means that I use very little weed so the socket has to be very small :/
 
they've definitely saved the day for me a couple of times. when i need a screen, i usually take a thick bit of stem and chew on it for a few seconds. small pebbles work too.
 
yeah man, or pieces of wood/bark, matchstick, a seed..anything really as long as its not plastic or otherwise toxic
 
What you need to do is cut out a cone from the side of the apple, and save it. Now, make the bowl a little wider. Then, you can just drop the cone you cut out into the wider bowl, and it will sit in there nicely, letting you put your weed in with no tin foil.
 
well I have done this several times and to solve the weed falling down the tube issue I just put an appropriately sized bud over it before putting the rest on. it works

Yeah, its a pretty fun site to utilize with forum questions huh
 
I always used to use an odd-shaped pebble to cover the hole at the bottom of the bowl. Using an oddly shaped pebble allows the air/smoke to flow but keeps the herb from falling through the hole.

Also used to make a chillum <sp?> out of a carrot. Same deal- find a pebble that only goes down the carrot an inch or so and there you have it.

The great thing about either is that you have something healthy and yummy to munch on later.

Remove the pebble first, though.
