okay so my doc is starting me on wellbutrin tomorrow 150 mg XR.

thing is i used concerta this saturday to get some work done and again a week before. i only took the recommended 54 mg (although it's not prescribed to me lol), i take it my dopamine receptors aren't really desensitized right now, correct?

otherwise i feel like i'd be wasting my wellbutrin.. which i'm apparently going to be on for a long time (ADD and severe depression).

I use Wellbutrin 300mg XR and 50-70mg of Methylphenidate everyday. In the timeline that is relevant here I started the Wellbutrin first, and got a very nice experience of them alone, pure unadulterated happiness. After 3 months or so they lost effect, but when I started the Ritalin they didn't work any worse than before, (a couple of years ago). I even feel that some of the effects of Wellbutrin is returning, but this might just be placebo or the Ritalin. I don't dare taper off the Wellbutrin to check. Done it once, never again, without medical attendance.

But I don't think you will be wasting the Wellbutrin, if its the same formula XR as mine they work in another way than Ritalin, much longer halflife and its not the same chemical at all
.
So do as your doctor says, and don't overuse the Concerta its way more addictive than people think.

Also if you are prone to get seizures Wellbutrin may induce that, and the combination with Wellbutrin and Concerta may increase the risk greatly.
